The copper Gen 1 Busa is one of the best paint schemes ever.
Agreed. If I ever had the chance, thats the color I'd prefer.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.
A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

A copper Gen 1 is one bike I still wouldn't mind owning.
Only if by "best females" you mean most vain.194 mph right out the box! This was before the 186 mph "gentleman's agreement." (Brokered, and broken by BMW, with their 1000SS.)
Why the need for speed? To paraphrase Cycle World, the first one there gets to mate with the best females. And gets the best parking space.
Truer words were never spoken.

Does anyone own a ZX-14R? I've read that they're an improved (and faster) beast, though not as 'sporty' in some regards as the 'Busa.
How much nicer is that exhaust than today's monstrosities?
Even a 1st Gen Busa still goes for more than $5k in general.Expensive toys that would be hard to justify for some of us...especially those that are married.
Try buying a new car for less than $25K...
Even being credit card debt-free, funding both my wife and mine IRAs, able to pay mortgage & utilities, and having a savings account that allows early payoff...my wife would have a reason for me not to pull the trigger.
I'd be happy with buying a $5K GS bike that was ready to ride...and would be fully paid off!

It’s do-able but for the life of me, I’d have to work my way up to a Busa!
Having a Y2K/Gixxer 750 was not the best decision as a first bike. Lord knows I was very fortunate NOT to get in too much trouble with that bike!

P.S. Enjoy the SB!!!

Actually, I'd say you need to ride a Busa. They are marvelously civilized-unless you need them not to be.
As for the SB, as a Cleveland fan, I'm barely interested.
