DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hi,

Z1 sells the Rick's stator at a good price. If you are really on a budget, an eBay seller named Caltric sells decent stators for about $90.

Are you sure you've done complete maintenance and testing on your charging system?

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

pretty sure i have..cleaned all connections...wired r/r direct instead of through harness(same with stator) added extra frame ground.

ok one more thing...do i need to replace my r/r as well? stator looks ok..but just dont test ok

If you're running the stock R/R still I would upgrade to a Shindingen unit, they're cheap and easy to hook up. You won't run the risk of the Suzuki R/R going bad and frying your new stator either.

^^thats enough to make me spend the extra money lol

now i googled that r/r an had no luck...does z1 have em? or am i looking wrong

........

What year is your bike, and what year is the "spare motor".

or... was it working with the spare stator at one time then failed? If so, nevermind about what year.

This is the one I have on my bike. Three inputs from the stator, then one grounding on the battery, the sense wire tapped into a switched 12v, and the output to the harness.

http://www.ebay.com/itm/HONDA-VOLTA...cycles_Parts_Accessories&vxp=mtr#ht_590wt_795

$25 buy it now, $5 expedited shipping.

just bought and fitted electrosport alt stator and r/r and fitted it,came directly from their website no hassle to fit, just had to find longer studs for rectifier.battery dead now though, its one of those neverending cycles on these old bikes, fix one thing and it highlights the next problem.onwards and upwards
