    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I made the mistake of riding my bike to work. There's a motorcycle parking area, populated with (obviously) morons. I've never had a bike messed with before, but on Monday some genital wart decided to wipe down my Plexifairing III for me -- completely dry, using (apparently) a paper towel.

Brand new Plexifairing, and it was scratched beyond belief. The guy wiped vertically and horizontally, so riding into the sun made it look like 45 different tic-tac-toe games on my fairing. Man, was I PO-ed.

I've tried other plexiglass cleaning / polishing products that were useless, including Blue Magic. Pretty disgusted.

I did a search here and found a lot of products recommended, but Novus 2 was common and had the strongest endorsements. I ordered some on eBay along with the Novus microfiber cloths, noting that everything about this product sounds like snake oil.

It arrived today, and I tried it on the freshly washed 'patient', and I'd have to say the results are remarkable. All but the deepest of those scratches are gone, and there's none of the hazing and 'film' appearance I got with other products over the years. A product that really works like it's advertised to! Who would have thought?

Anyway, it works so well that I'm going to clean up my other Plexifairing too, a 7-year-old unit, on my Nighthawk. It's not in too bad of shape after 7 seasons, but as good as the Bandit's turned out, there's no reason not to! I'm really pleased.

Ive been working with Dean at Novus for years. I make Acrylic Airplane windows. He hooks me up with all sorts of samples we take to the Airplane conventions. He has a bunch of #1, #2 & #3 samples + the wipes I need to pick up to take to Oshkosh. Im giving a spiel on Installing and Maintaining Windows at the Airshow.

Sadly, there's no way to identify the culprit.

I can't count how many times I've left a Jap bike parked at poker runs and the like, where you'll find actual animosity toward Asian bikes, without a single incident. I can leave my key in the ignition, gloves on the seat, GPS unit in its mount, you name it, it doesn't get messed with.

At this place, that's too much to ask for.

I've always been an admirer of PT Barnum, and if a marketer can convince an average dupe to purchase snake oil (and play by the rules), well, he wins. Suckers generally get what they deserve when something is billed as being too good to be true. When I read all the descriptions of the various plexiglass polishing products, I felt that I was deeply into the PT Barnum woods -- and I was buying anyhow, against my own admonitions. I even went for the special 'microfiber cloths' to go with the Novus.

So -- I anticipated disappointment, and it was a really pleasant surprise to find a product that actually does what it's billed to do. This stuff works great. RTFM, of course. There are still a few scratches that will require the #3 first to knock them down, but I'd say 98% of them are simply gone.

Yeah, I just can't quite fathom why someone would do this. Maybe they really admired the bike, and wanted to help out (?)... If they wanted to be truly malicious, I guess there'd be gouges in the fuel tank. I think they were just amazingly stupid and presumptuous. I mean, in most circles, you're safer messing with a man's wife than his bike, and that's the way it should be.
