o rings between head studs?

during the tearing apart of my motor there was small o-ring like seals on my head studs, honestly i dot remember if it was between the walls and the crankcase or the head and the walls but there wasnt one for every stud, i havent been able to find the bits on a parts diagram either, im wondering if anyone could guide me to let me know what they possibly are.

okay so update, i found out what it is, they actually sit inbetween the headgasket on the 4 corner bolts, my problem is i cant find them on a partsdiagram. can anyone help me out?

they're little circle gaskets that go on each corner bolt of the headgasket

parts fiche, at parts monster, shows those are made in to the corner holes of the gasket. the "O" rings don't come separate I'd guess.

The four corners are the oil riser and return galleries. The head gasket has four supplemental seals which can be part of the gasket itself. In the attached picture you can see three of the four metal washer seals with rubber remaining on one. These may have been attached to the gasket and came loose over time. The kidney shaped seal is for the rear corners of the base gasket. Any chance of a picture of your headgasket?

I think the accepted knowledge here leans heavily to using a genuine Suzuki gasket set.

yeah they are part of the headgasket forsure they cant be bought alone unless some aftermarket company makes them.

also i cant use an oem headgasket as my cylinders are now 65mm not 62mm.

these o-rings/gaskets dont seem to be the same material as the headgasket itself, would it be a bad idea to try and make a cutout from my oem gasket to have a set of the o-rings for my new one?

Contact the folks that made your 65 mm head gasket, their gasket may not need the "O" rings but they should know.

ive heard terrible things about their customer service, ill try but, the gasket i have has the same cutouts on the corner bolts like theres supposed to be that o-ring there

It's quite feasible to use separate O rings in those corner holes. An O ring which will "just fit" in the gasket hole and is slightly thicker than the gasket is what's wanted.
Measure the gasket thickness which may be .040 or 1mm approx. A common thickness O ring size is 1.2mm which will work well.

The later GSXR's come with separate O rings for the same holes.

Right Greg, Suzuki returned with the GSX 600 FT, 4 cyl. in 1988, a quick look at the parts dia. shows these "O" rings separate, part # 09280-12013. Wouldn't know how to confirm they would be what may be needed for an "82" 650, but the closest guess we've seen. Unless the gasket mfg. has an answer...Good luck.
