If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

O-rings for carb bowl drain screw.

So I finished my carb cleaning for the 1100GL. Did everything but the fuel inlet needle valve seat which I couldn't budge and feared damaging. The bike runs great but I'm getting drips from the bowl drain screws. At first I thought it might be leaking higher and running down but I'm pretty sure it's not.
I removed the old flattened o-rings and replaced with somewhat better used o-rings removed from the vent tubes or fuel tubes. The Cycle O-rings kit doesn't include o-rings for the drain screw. One screw leaked and I replaced the o-ring with a different used one and it quit. Then another screw started leaking. Maybe I'm tightening so much I'm tearing the o-ring?
Is that size nitrile o-ring something I should be able to get locally. A buyer wants to buy this bike Saturday. Also, does anyone know what is the size of that o-ring?

The size is in the carb rebuild tutorial linked in my signature.

And always lube O-rings before install to avoid damage.

Okay, thanks. Got some gas resistant ones from Napa and the counterman opined I had tightened them too much. I will click your link to the carb rebuild. I don't remember seeing it in the CV tutorial at BikeCliff's but I did gloss over familiar parts of it.

EDIT. Wow, great tutorial you did.

You must tighten the screw until it fully contacts the float bowl. The O-ring is trapped in a space between the two parts.

1.5 mm by 5mm. So I guess the hole is 5 mm. Looks like what I got from Napa. Caliper might be slightly larger but acceptable.

Okay, I just read your reply so I guess I need to tighten fully. I will lubricate before tightening.

Actually, the Suzuki/Mikuni seals are not O-rings. They are flat rubber washers. The O-rings will work though.

I offer them free with the kit, but you have to ask for them. PM me your actual name (then I'll have your address...) and I'll pop a set in the mail for you.

Thanks Robert, I think I'm good. I have no leaks now and put some from Napa on. I'm selling the bike and just wanted to get it ready. There have been no signs of leaks. The bike is running so good I hate to sell it.
