I recently purchased a gs1150 oil cooler, lines, fittings, etc. Ebay item #300915912097 really nice for the price for my 82 gs1100 and as I understand it I will need the 1150 filter housing cover in order to have it function properly on my 1100.I priced the 1150 cover and at my dealer cost it is $86.91 Ouch! I even think it is black and won't match my silver cases. My question is I have seen in several other forums that there is a restrictor that can be installed behind the stock cover and divert some of the oil through the cooler without welding etc. The flying banana forum was a good article explaining the oil flow etc. Does any one know the part # for the restrictor if there is one or where to get such a piece or is it something that needs fabricating or what? I see a dia. of 2.5 mm for the oil passage hole that needs to be drilled in the plug if I plan to make one. Is that correct also? Is the plug press fit, tapped, or what any pics would be greatly appreciated if any one has them. Any and all ideas also appreciated. Thanks to all.
