hi guys i have the 83 750 , and learned on here that the 700 transmission were the same, but i checked the numbers and there are a couple parts that have 1 number different!! on the part number
i found that the clutch nuts are different, numbers and a couple gear part numbers are diff:eek:
im wondering if the main shaft is different didgit because the 750 had a 630 chain, and the 700 had the 530 chain?
please tell me i have nothing to worrie about
i see no differance at all!, just 1 lil number, everything is thae same, the number of teeth every thing!

sometimes factory will have a total different number all together , for a substatued part i have seen this a lot on the fiche

needed because the 2nd was poping out of gear:mad:, and want this right with my total rebuild
but i wont tear into my bike for quite a while since i have another surgery coming

THANKS TO ALL HELP GUYS!!! on parts, and info!!!:)

This fishe will show you all the part number supercessions, as long as the parts numbers fall in the chain they should interchange. http://www.alpha-sports.com/suzuki_parts.htm

New gears and parts are killer expensive, you might want to check ebay for an entire used transmission. I threw a perfectly good 1000G transmission in the scrap bin because no body wanted it - ebay prices were super low so it wasn't worth the trouble to try to sell it. I bet you can find a cheap used 700 transmission for less than the gears cost.

I think you need a different reason, I replaced my chain and it was a 530 chain.

750 had a 630 oem, there are conversion kits ,and im using a 530 now, ( i bought a complete 700 transmission off ebay)- i checked every part number, on each gear there were a couple with 1 diget different, but all look identical!!
the clutch nut#'s are different as well, and there is a extra washer on the 700
im swapping the whole thing ,but was worried about those numbers, but like i said, factory numbers on fiche have updated numubers on some stuff
i just dont know, 1 number is enough to be totally different
750--
3rd gear drive-- 24231-31302 nt:19

700--
3rd gear drive--24231-31304 nt:19

this is one im talking about -- fiche from cycle parts nation

31304--31302 these are the 1 numbers off

everything looks the same but like i noted there are a couple numbers different , i did get the whole trans though!

'83 750 E and ES have 530's from the factory. Ray is correct, I have a trans from a 700 in my 750. 700's did have a different size rear sprocket, two teeth bigger.

1983 GS750E/ES=530 530 530 530 530 530 530 530 ECT...........
77-82 GS750E/L had a 630 chain.......................

There is a 700 trans on Ebay right NOW with a $79.99 Buy It Now price! That is MUCH cheaper than trying to buy NEW parts for one! Ray.

thanks guys, i checked my factory manual, it is a 50v, my bike looks like its a 630 though, and i got meessed up on the dennis kirk conversion chart lol
the g,l t models are 630

ray--
i bought a complete 700 transmission already got it today, but was concerned about the number difference on the fiche is all
