    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

where the heck do theses japenese people come up with their engineering? this needle jet snap ring is a joke, do they even make snapring pliers that fit down there? if so who and where are they?:mad: i hate engineering that could be simple that they make so fricken hard.....rrrrrr.....

Cheap long needle nosed pliers from Harbor Freight work just fine.
 
tried the needle nose plies, dont have any that have the perfect ends on them.
ohhhhhh z1 my favorite place, if i cant find any locally tomorrow, z1 it is...man im thinkin z1 owes me a t-shirt too....:D

So grind em down until they fit, and spend a little time cussing at that ninety year old gook engineer that designed this crap.

ahhh, found an old set inside the old toolbox, snap ring pliers ground down ta almost nothin, check....lol:D

Seriously, if you're going to break out the racial epithets, use the right one! Give the little nips the credit they deserve! :rolleyes:

Back on topic, I used a set of right angle snap ring pliers for these. I bought em from Mike's XS, since I was buying other carb parts anyways, but you can get the same thing at Harbor Freight, and a few others that will work as well. Just make sure the reach is sufficient to get in there.
 
I just cleaned/rebuilt a set of Keihin carbs off an older V45 Honda for a friend of mine...

Thoses needles are held in place by a 3-eared plastic cap that has a nut molded into it. You simply use a socket on an extension and turn the cap about 60 degrees to remove/secure it.

Much easier than those Mikuni snap rings...
 
I've removed hundreds of those with the HF cheapo needle nose. I didn't even modify them. :hand:

nope, painless..lmao their outta the old, i never use, toolbox. so now the snapring pliers have gone to the suzuki gods and are now part of the bike:D
