A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Weather is just about right for a ride on some of my very favorite roads.:):)

I guess I'm supposed to explain why I think it is so great.......

The problem with that is that words don't do the place justice. It really is a state of mind.

My shoulders drop an inch automaticly whenever I get within 70 miles of the place. Just beautiful!

Looks great. You need to tell us where it is. I guess I could look it up. Thanks for the pictures.

Don,

Thanks for the link. I think you have an idea there about a ralley. I've only been through that general area once, many years ago.

I need to go there... Let's do it this summer! :D

Chainsaw,
My life has been in too much turmoil recently to take on organizing such a rally.(at least this year) I will, however, be spending some time there in august and will have a couple of my bikes and my bike trailer with me.

If anyone is interested, I will post when I plan to be there. Maybe we can hook up for a ride.

Duper, you are certainly right about the beauty of the Highlands, but, naturally, I'll comment on Okanogan versus Okanagan.....I wonder how we drifted apart on the spelling of the same word.....:-s

You know, I was never aware of that. Soon as you cross the border going north, Okanogan becomes Okanagan. Interesting.

My wife's Dad (now deceased) Built their family cabin there. We went once in the 80's to check it out. I think it was along the west side, grouped with other cabins. I didn't even notice the town, thought it was a park.

I love riding eastern wa. roads. Lot's a places to wander.

Duper, are you talking about Conconully?
Our cabin is on the far end of main street across from the old ranger workshop.

Yes, west side of the lake. I remember driving amongst the trees and several cabins nearby. Bethards were their name. Really small cabin with loft, very cool. Ted Bethards built it in the summers as a highschool kid.

Doesn't ring a bell but I'll ask the wife. She is the keeper of all such things.....

i dont think ive been to that specific area before, but I've been through Chelan and leavenworth a bunch of times. Everytime i go to Eastern WA, it kills me that i dont have my GS with me and that northern part in particular is gorgeous! This year I made it a plan to buy a bike better suited to cruising around the state, A GS1150 or a triumph thunderbird 900 were at the top of my list, but those are hard to come by locally. I eventually found another hard to find bike, an 86 gsxr750 but that bike as much as I love it is hardly state cruising material! Maybe I just need to buy a truck and haul my bikes around! :D Anyhow, if a GS rally in that area builds up some steam, maybe i'll build up the courage to ride across the cascades. Traveling across those mountains and seeing the landscape change is part of the adventure.
