Hi,
I've searched the forums but can't find the answer. Does anyone know what the ORIGINAL Equipment tires brand and model are for a 1981 GS750ex? The size is 3.25x19 front, and 4.00x18 rear. Thanks!!

Most of the Suzukis of that era came with Bridgestones. You won't be able to buy the exact model anymore.

The magazine road tests from back in the day typically listed the extact type of tires on the bikes. As Billy stated above, those tires are long gone now.

Yea what Billy Ricks said, got 'em still on my 1981 GS750L. Original tires never flat, never off the rim. My baby has only 9800 miles on the clock.

Hi Mr.Tazman001,

I'm curious. Do you ride on those 28 year old tires?

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

Cliff is being his typical Mr. Congeniality?but underneath this nice guy exterior he is secretly (as I am) shocked that anyone would consider riding on rubber that old and decrepit. Remove those tires post haste and ditch them in the nearest recycling bin. Cheng Shin HiMax?s are only $100 delivered if you are tight for cash. They could very well save your life, and save your ?baby? from some nasty road rash.

I put the Chen Shin HiMax on last year and got 5500 miles on them. The rear is getting "close", the front is good. I was looking at a more "vintage style" tread pattern. Looking at a set of IRC GS-11's. Any comments?:D

Haven't yet, but will--jus' not very far, not very fast, not very long. Already have one for the front, Bridgestone S11 90/90-19, and will pick up a Bridgestone S11 for the rear. I'll take it for a test drive around the block, after the carbs are finished. Maybe down to the gas station less than a 1/4 mile away for gas. I'm a very restrained person, no burnouts or such--till I get the new tires on it.:)

As I asked in post #10, are the IRC GS-11's a decent tire? Look more vintage, and are more than double the price of my ChenShengs.

The GS11 are a great tire!! They came on many mid size suzuki's in the 80's. I think they are head and shoulders above the Chen Shengs which I also sold.:D
