A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I always thought the fuel gauge in the car showed F for Finished and E for Enough!:)

Glad you got it sorted.

Match, Never heard that one before.
I figured it was prolly something simple. Just want it to work like its supposed to.
Already had to change the oil twice do to leaving it on prime.

At least the oil's clean. Oh, and the bike runs great!

How long is your fuel line? I had the same problem. Picked up a new petcock from Z1,and the same thing. The po had a long fuel line installed that swooped down by the starter, and back up. It would run ok on prime, and die out when switched to "on". I cut the line shorter, ditched the crappy fuel filter (yes my tank is spotless inside), turned the fuel inlet nipple on the carb up toward the tank and routed the line directly to the carbs. Problem solved.. Its worth a look.

Jeff (teet)

I know this is an older(?) thread but does anyone know the stock length? My manual only says to replace every 2 years! i've had all the same probs with the petcock and i've had the gas breath to prove it! She RAN ok before my air problems but i'd just like to know if anyone knows the "sweet length"?

INB4 search the forum been there done that... hopefully i'm not that Rtarded!!?

The "sweet length" will depend on your bike. If I was home, I could measure mine and let you know, but will have to settle for telling you that the fuel line should run DOWNhill, have smooth curves and no kinks.

"INB4"?

I completely agree with you on the American English portion as I sure don't understand some of the newfangled talk. However, I think he might have been saying "And before you say to search the forum"

Great. Next you will have a language debate, then a referendum, then ANOTHER referendum...

No, living in Quebec has NOT changed how I view the world, not at all. :-\\\

I vote for English English (though at least I can understand the Yanks, despite the missing 'u' in colour, the missing syllable in aluminium and when they have, presumably house-trained, pet male chickens, sorry - petcocks, rather than fuel taps etc) :D.

Txt spk iz jst gibberish to me.
