Pic of the week game

As usual, naming one image as ''best'' seems a disservice to a few others. Using the theme word as the main criteria, gustovh is my pick this week.

Thanks for the recap and commentary, Redman.
I enjoyed the variety of pictures. Some of these could be in magazines!
I'm on the Sandy train, with an honorable mention to Roger Burque. I dig that setup!

Tough choice as usual. That's a good thing though. I have to go with gustovh this week. I think his entry says the most to me...

Burque73, works for me, I like the creativity of the photo.

Here is my rendition of Sandy's photo, he just beat me to it.

I knew you were going to do that, that's why I posted right away. Ha ha. Anyway I think your photo was actually taken on your camera by Rich (Wizard) IIRC. It was a memorable evening hanging out up there with friends and watching the sunset. I think I'm going with Baatfam's this week. Love the composition and creativity that went into it.

I have been pondering since this morning but have to jump on the Sandy train. Lot of good pics this week!

Great pics....
Sandy's and gustovh's are outstanding...(as we've seen before)
Love Storm 64's because of the impromptu nature of the shot...
The colors in Jedz', and the effort in Burgue's both deserve notice...
Several others are also worthy of winning, but I must vote for...

...trevor's pic of his Dad.

Not because of how it met the theme, or it's artistic quality, but because it touched something important in me.

Voting for Trevor, based on emotion. It is a cool shot of a man at work as well.

I lost my father long ago, and now my father in law is in declining health.

Good Saturday Morning One and All!

My count is...

Burque73 with 1 vote
trevor and Baatfam with 2 votes each
gustovh with 3 votes

And our winner, with 5 votes is Sandy!

(If someone could please verify the count, that would be great.)

Confirming the Sandy 5 votes, Baatfam 2, Gustov 3, Burque 1, Trevor 2.

Sandy, I think you have discussed it before some when these pics were first posted, but tell us more, tell us again how you (and others) got those shots.
I suppose Somehow someone said "ew, look at sunset, pose bikes over here, and we can go over there", but tell us more.
Here, in this thread, you have the audience that wants to know.

Ya Sandy tell us how the picture was took and how you guys got me home after dark.

Was that the night we had to escort you home due to no headlight. Forgot about that, but then I wasn't the one driving by braille.

This was actually the first time I used that particular photo here. You folks probably saw a similiar one because we took quite a few that evening. We also took some the following year, the one I posted a while ago of just me and the bike was from the following year. The setting was a state park near Vince's place and this photo was from 2012 when Rich, myself and Vince were returning from the Mt. Shasta Rally that Charlie hosted. The first photo below was the initial setup for the final photo then I just literaly set the camera on the ground to eliminate the background and have the bikes against the sky, reduced exposure by about 2 stops and fired the camera with the self timer. Didn't have to worry about the pavement in the foreground because it just turned black anyway. As you can see, there was almost no post processing done to the final image.

Ok guys here's this weeks theme. Something to do with vineyards and if there isn't any available nearby I guess an orchard will suffice. Have fun and thanks for the kudos on this weeks photo. This was taken in 2008 on my solo return from a California trip I did with my brother from Vanvouver and 2 friends from Cranbrook. I had to get back for work and they decided it wasn't quite time to go home yet. Somewhere on the back roads of Northern California.

Impressive, creative idea.
I did not consider that possibility. Just assumed was on top of some ridge or something. I am impressed.
