• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Did you click on the "Post Reply (X)" button? Sometimes you have to scroll up to see it.
Today's was a little tricky because it was spread over two pages.

Eli, if you just copy and paste the BBC code from flicker, right into your post, the photo will show up full sized.
Don't use the "Upload Attachment" option.

Sorry about that. It wouldn't work right from my phone. I meant to get on the laptop and change it but I guess I went riding instead. Thanks for fixing it up.

Some good hot pics. The near monochromatic pic from Rich82 says ‘that’s hot’ best to me.

Yep, saw the Post Reply button and it had "10" in it, I figure that was indication that was the 10 posts I had intended to quote (had done cntrl Quote on multiple posts)..... yah, Hit the PostRely10 button (dont recall if I contiuned to hold the cntrl button or not) and only got one or two post quoted. THen was past time to head out the door.
I will experiment some more, and try not to glog up the proceedings here by describing my ignorance.

Probably should vote while I'm here.
Mr Redman gets my vote. That face says it all.

I think picture should be selfexplanitory about the situation so it itself represents the theme/category without the author having to explain it. Most photo contest specifically do not allow any description/explanation.
In my submission I am kinda cheating in this regardt since many folks here already recognize that picture if from the story of My first (and now maybe only) cross country trip (SanDiego to home, 2300 miles ) and beemer has (another) catastrophic failure 500 miles from home. So the remainder of the trip is in rental truck.

In some pics the author may recall that was hot weather on that occasion, but nothing much in the photo indicates that.

But, hey, ROger Burque and Grimly pic quite definatly numerates how hot.

My pic is about me being "hot". . .. . my temperament (hee hee ... pun....)

Vote for Bob Baatfam. It had my attention on the jacket, thinking so hot out that took jacket off....
then later notice the smoke/steam.... oh! then notice the puddle on the pavement...Oh!.... then notice discoloration where stuff dripping on exhaust.... "Oh OH something is Hot", I said.
If the picture makes me say the word that is the topic/theme, even if I had not known what the topic/theme was, then the pic gets extra points.

Let's see, some of these may be hot, have been hot, hot under the collar, is hot if thermometer is accurate... Vote for Gustovh, By golly that is hot!
