Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Hey Baatfam,
not to be a nit picker, but I thought the one making the post has to take the picture?
Cool shot regardless.

You would think so, but even in the original rules, who took the shot doesn't matter.
All the rules are on the first page.
Thanks for checking though, I've been wrong before. (At least once;))

7. Any bike can participate... not only GS's (as long as it was yours when the pic was taken)
8. The date of the picture does not matter, or who took the pic. You can use new or old pics as long as you've got the bike in the pic (or as much of the bike as necessary for the theme) and they meet the week's theme.

Ok, apparently I misread the rules or posted one w/o my bike & thought rider had to take picture.
Guess I have more photos to choose from now. Thanks for clarifying.

Oh gadds and all I have is all the old tired photos that I’ve been using. Hmmmm getting to hate eggs

. . . . . . . . . . but I thought the one making the post has to take the picture?
.

Originally (Jan 2018), there wasnt any specific mention in the "rules" about that, but was pretty much assumed that the photo was by the submitter.

But then (a year later?) were some submissions entered that were obvioulsy taken by the passenger or someoneelse involved in the event with the submitters involvment. ANd some discussion ensued, and "rules" revised (as quoted above).

So, yes, now (since about 2019?) the rules allow photo taken by someoneelse as long as it is your bike (at the time).

Heck, since then, we even had photos subbmittted that were from a professional photographer session shot for magazine publication.
So, yes, the rules allow that.
But,,,,, but, each person voting has thier own criteria.

I had forgotten that. Thanks Dave!
To be honest, my photo was taken by my wife, with my camera....:p

Each person voting has their own criteria. I don't have much criteria, so think I'll just make up my own rules... Hope it works.

Anarchy! I love it!

Name that tune:

"Rules and regulations
Who needs them?
Throw 'em out the door!" :very_drunk:

Well voting Carter Turk this week, his picture reminds me sooo much of our weekend groups, scenic rural area, smaller hwy.'s, size of group, at intersection deciding which way to go... 2 things different none of us wore leather clothes and just a couple had full face helmets. Precious memories.

Thanks for summation Rich.

a lot to like about these photos. Fun.
Thanks.

dgates, nice, good situation for a pano, to catch where two hundred thousand or more are gathered.

for voting, burque and rich got my interest.
burque, I really like the photo and interpretation of the theme. But will vote for Rich because it represents the event. I thought I had something more to say.
