If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

As I've noted many times life is busy with (as of a few weeks) two teenagers, an older house, a big dog, etc. I'm sure many can commisreate or recall.
The night ride is often my only time to get out. It serves sometimes as therapy, sometimes a joyous nightcap, always fun. The mental benefits outweigh the added peril, plus for me there's just something about trolling around quiet, less travelled streets at that time - especially on Sunday nights which are extra quiet. Ever since I was a kid riding a BMX bike, the night ride has a always had an allure.

As far as a topic, I've avoided it here and in The Riding Game, knowing that it's not a popular time to ride for many. I'm hoping for cool shots. It's a good time to play with lighting as Trevor did with strategic garage lighting.... I still have difficulty capturing my night world as I see it with the camera, but when it goes right, it's wonderful.

....................................... Well, lets see, oh, there are lights on front of garage, .......................
<delete photo>
Well, ah, guess I need to find something else.
But, weather forecast is for 30s and low 40s all week, rain a couple days and they used the S-word for later in the week.

When I went out on Thursday I was toying with the idea of bringing my battery powered work floodlight along for fill light. I still may experiment at some point.

Spent the last 1.5 hours searching all devices for a picture. Only to realize, I done have a single picture of my bike at night... And dammit if it isn't too freaking cold out to get one...

OK...Did this tonight. I think I'll call it, "Headin' out."

Used my Pany GX8, with on Olympus 45mm f/1.8 lens. ISO 400, f/3.2, 1.0s exposure.

Hey, a real camera. Long exposure, must be tripod. Hey, that is getting serious. Good results.

I Like the reflection in the windscreen.

This was from early this year when i was down in FL for bike week. This is my Buddy and his Triumph Bonneville T120... After he let me ride it I was HOOKED... I think the light effect here was telling me something about that Bonneville!

Well it was my buddy's. So no, hahaha.
Should have been a little more aware!

OK, I finally have a chance to get back in. :encouragement:

Spent a couple of hours the other night, going through pictures that have been saved over the years. Most of the night shots were of scenery, but did not include the bike. So I went out to get one. The one I really wanted might have gotten me in trouble. There is a park across the street with a very nice Veterans' Memorial. Brick plaza area, several flags, seemed perfect, but the park is officially closed at dark and I am rather sure that someone would get their knickers in a twist if they saw me riding down the sidewalk to the plaza to pose the bike. So I settled for the City Munincipal office down the block. The building is well-lit, so you have to assume there are lights. There is a token light hanging over the bike, though.

I was headed to a friend's house (in Illinois), turned on my LED strips and leaned back to take a picture.

Cool shot! There are other threads you could have posted that pic in so really It's me who needs to thank you for playing our little game here.

He is usually rather busy all day, rests when he gets home, doesn't get much time to cruise the forum.

Yeah, that's <my> kid. :encouragement:

I didn't think I'd get a chance to ride or get a pic in this week but it was a nice night and so backed the bike out and saw this. Thought about putting my son on the bike with helmet, as if riding in a crouch, being chased way too close by my Mini. Decided that was way too contrived and I'd have to edit out the center stand. I'll put this here for now in case I don't get out and get something better the rest of the week. I like the symmetry and graphic quality.

Edit: I'm now taking this photo out of the running.

This one with me on the bike is my submission for this week "Lights at night"
I decided to do my original contrived idea with my real camera, me on the bike, a remote shutter release, and just a bit of retouching. This was fun.
