A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

I’m going to try this but I’m doing it from my iPad so I don’t know if it will work right. If it doesn’t I will try to get Charmayne to upload it for me

You’ll have to click the link as it won’t give me the bbcode to insert
Huh. I found it:

here is my entry, lots of photos with shadows. I got this bike for getting a yamaha 750 running for a fellow.

Close to 11K motorbike related photos cataloged on my machine, and I only found 6 or 7 photos with clear enough shadows to use.
Seems like every rally or ride I've been in the past 10 years involved clouds and rain.

Anyway, I found this one from July of 2013. Not a particularly clever or artistic photo, with the harsh sun and cliched pose, but I thought the shadow was interesting.
Lighting the K1100RS directly from behind gives a weird geometric shape to the shadow in front of the bike.

The picture was taken at the entrance to the New Glarus brewery, in New Glarus Wisconsin. That is a field of hops growing behind us. We stopped for the tour on our way home from a BMW Brick ride.

30 minutes after this picture was taken, that BMW was scattered up and down the shoulder of the highway. Best bike I ever had.

I like this scene because the shadow is not distorted much, well, other than the bottom of the tires. Can even see the carb bowls in the shadow.
THis is the road down by the beach, parking space next to dune hill side, sun real low, sun just about to set over the lake.
Sun just about perpendicular to the bike, and the side of the hill not too far from perpendicular either.

I like how the Shadow looks like a reflection in this one...

Man I can't believe I use to LOVE riding with those buck horns... What was I thinking!?!

Here's mine for this week. I guess it gives a different meaning to the term 12 o'clock shadow.

How did you manage to block off the road like that? It seems like that would be a well traveled one

Just one of the advantages of living in the boonies and taking a mid week ride. Yah, I kind of like it here. Winters have even less traffic. LOL.

You're making it tough competing with your scenery backdrop selection. I will be on that road(Ft Steele Rd correct?) in a few weeks, but will be in a car. If I see a nice GS sitting in the middle of the roadway, I will stop and hijack it!! I'll pack my helmet.

ps...I deleted the photo so it wouldn't show again and give you an advantage....lol

The whole 125 mile ride home when I bought that bike from you, I was thinking the same....why Justin?? The first thing I did(next day) was swap out the bars....it was much faster after that! I could do 130mph without exercising my stomach muscles so much!

Here is my entry for photo of the week. 👍
Nothing special, just a long shadow. I was hoping to get a moving shadow picture with my friend, but apparently she's still mad at me for blowing her off last Sunday when I went on a extended motorcycle ride. Oh well, I guess that's why I never been married...

Friday. Vote Day.

Friday. Vote Day.

About half hour early......

Review of the entries this week.....

This week will be a picture of your bike casting a shadow.

The bike does not need to be fully in the picture as mine was. A part of it or even its shadow only is fine
