• This forum allows conversation on non-controversial topics, therefore no politics or religion. "The Campfire" is an area meant for casual, civil discussions. Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

    Welcome!
Register to access the full functionality of the GSResources forum. Until you register and activate your account you will not have full forum access, nor will you be able to post or reply to messages.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Pic of the week game

Thanks for the votes everyone. :)

So here is my theme....."The people you meet on a motorcycle"
That can be a chance encounter (like mine) or anything else that brought you to meet someone because of your motorcycle.

This was taken on my first night on the way to Las Vegas for my brother in law's wedding.
I was checking into a hotel in Newport OR. and I came out to my bike and this guy in a wheelchair was checking out my bike....we had a conversation and his wife says "have you ever heard of Paul Ritter"? And I said "the superbike racer"? And she said "this is him"....I told them I was looking to buy his book recently "Racing the Gods"...and Paul signed a copy and I purchased the book right there.
That was a great way to start off my trip! :)
Btw the book is a great read. https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/racing-gods-superbike-racer-paul-ritters-autobiography/

Me and Scotty by Scott Marvin, on Flickr

I drove over from Orlando in 2005 to meet up with the one and only the late Dom Scotto (Scotty). Had a blast riding his loaner bike, a Yamaha 650 "Street tracker" with a seat that was like sitting on a 2" X 4" sideways. He was a hoot! The GS Resources and riding in general has introduced me to many great people. Some of high character and some just Characters. :-)

I would not have met a single one of these fellows if I didn't ride a Suzi. right to left. Sandy, Rob, Trevor, Todd, Harold, Charlie G., Scott and Kiko, and Rich.

I've definitely met some people due to motorcycling that I otherwise wouldn't have met. In this case, playing these picture games is a great ice breaker. At times, I ask folks if they mind me taking a few pics of them or their property, explaining there's a group of motorcyclists in other states/ countries that participate. I get some weird looks sometimes, ok most times, but it's fun.

Was riding south about 70 miles into my 300mile trip to Brown COunty Ralley, and this Suzuki entered the highway and then rode next to me, and the guy waved at me, and I casually waved back, then the guy started waving vigoriously and pointing at the next exit. We pulled off on the exit....

hey, Its Buffalo Bill.

I had meet up with him a couple times before at The Gilmore museam and one occassion to swap parts. ANd on those occassions he was on his 1100G, so I didnt recognize him on his track bike.

As always, if anything is amiss, please let us know.

Voting for Mr Redman. I like the story of the random meeting on the highway.

2nd Choice would have been those handsome devils in mr. Rich82GS750TZ picture.
