DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Need a picture of the headlight bracket for a 82 or 83 gs1100. I know mine are bent but don't know what there suppose to look like. Thank you in advance

Can you post a picture of what you have currently? It may help us to answer the question for you as well

Is your bike an "E" "G" or "L"?

Unless they are all the same, which I don't know.

The E and G might be the same, but the L (actually a GL that year) will be different.

The L headlight brackets will have a greater offset to compensate for the smaller headlight bucket.

.

The reason I ask is that turn signal seem like there off from where they should be.

If I had paid more attention to your screen name, I would have known it was an E model, which I have.

Looking at your pictures is it possible the ears are reversed and so are upside down? It is really hard to tell in those photos.
Here are a few pictures I just took of mine. The ears have a level side, and an angled side. The level side should be on the bottom.

Not exactly the same angle as yours, because of the windshield, but maybe they will help.

If you take a pic of straight above are the turn signals straight or do they bend away from a straight line?

It would really suck if there upside down as I just had the fork out for seals. But left the headlight hanging when I did it so I know it back together the way it was beforehand

Viewed from above, the signals should be in a straight line, so the lenses point forward.

You also have what we call a "train light", which takes different mounts than the other bikes.

That mount in post #6 is definitely bent, I'll bet the other one is, too.

Like Steve said above, it should be a straight line through the turn signals.
Here is a picture of mine. The are bent a little due to time, but they should be straight.
