A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Hrmmm sure enough! Guess that will do it for me, i'll be staying away. Welp...back to the drawing board..

Someone pointed those out to me at one point...good lookin save for two things...one, they are only 12.6 inches long...and two they are eye to eye mount...my bike is eye to clevis mount.

Thats alright lil bro...I'll find something...i may just go with those 14.5 MDI's Kurt showed me. They're less than 100 bucks and he says they're stiff and he weighs the same as me. So that sounds pretty good.

Those also look the same as the ones in Addy's link... would be worth finding out more about them.

If I go with the progressives you could have my stock ones but they are also eye to eye....

Dan :)

Thanks Dan, i really appreciate the offer. But im not entirely sure how i could mount eye to eye to a swingarm set up for clevis. I saw someone post about it not too long ago, and i havent seen an update since, but they just ran a bolt thru the eye of the shock and the eye on the swinger...Im not sure thats such a good idea, as not only does it offset the shock, which im not sure if that would have negative effects on handling, but also creates a shear point accross that bolt. With my heavy self on it plus the bikes own weight, spells disaster i would think...PAINFULL at that...lol

I think you could make up an adapter bracket fairly easily. My shocks are 13" & you said you wanted some extra length.....

Dan :)

check out the new $49 cartridge emulators for 35 mm forks (which many GSs have):
http://www.mikesxs.net/mikesxs-suspension.php?category_id=6.2

That's about 1/3 the price of Race Tech emulators

Please note this is not my shop, no connection at all except as a soon-to-be customer

You reckon those $49 cartridge emulators would work on a GS, My old Katana 1100 could sure use some and I have to pull the forks apart anyway so drilling the rods is all good?
