I recently took My 1982 Suzuki GS300L carburetor out to inspect the pilot jets for clogged holes. It was not idling properly and would only run in choke. Found out that I needed to properly plug the vacuum line that goes to the petcock. Ooops.
When I opened it up, I found that the pilot jet did not have a plug that I see in the service manuals in this site.
What do those plugs do? And how would the engine run without them? I heard they help create a little vacuum?
And how the hell does the pilot jet get fuel if there is a plug?
does it get fuel elsewhere?
My bike is idling fine now. They only symptom I’m experiencing now is delayed response to the throttle as the rpm’s go crazy high for such a little change in throttle.
Thank you for any help
