I guess I'll pull the head and cylinder and report back
Actually you can split the cases without starting at the top.
Not sure if you will be able to see anything unless it is really bad.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.
Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.
Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...
If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.
If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

well heres what I did, started bike and started to turn tensioner nob no difference, so I thought spring is new probley going to hold well, so slowly started to unbolt the tensioner ( I know bad idea but don't care at this point and was desperate for some kinda of sign) had the tensioner unbolted 1/4 from cylinder no change what so ever, so iam leaning towards a bearing somewhere in the crank ( its still hard to convince myself its a crank bearing)
Whoa back up!
Sounds like your tensioner isn't doing anything. If it was you would hear something change when you loosened it, whether the engine was totally ruined or if it was perfect. It is a very obvious change in sound. Always always you will hear something change if it's working.
If there's no change in sound, the chain is loose as can be already, ratling around in there, possibly skipping teeth on the cam sprockets and wreaking more havoc inside.
Are you sure the setscrew has been released?
Did you take the tensioner out and see if it's stuck or broken or something? You can push a wooden rod or something in with the engine shut off and feel the chain tension change. Maybe the chain tensioner shoe inside the engine is broken?
I don't know what is wrong with it but not hearing a change absolutely means it's not working. Check this before taking anything else apart.
Eah god, how far down the road do we have to go before he pulls the freaking valve cover and checks for chain slop?
Somehow I doubt it.
Well I will make a special video for you pulling the cover again.
I bought my Kawasaki Concours for a song, the guy knew it had a bad engine. Sounded like a paint can full of rocks on a paint shaker. Used it to talk him down to near nothing, he went to get the title, I loaded the bike in the truck then took the tensioner out, pushed a pencil in the hole and pushed on the tensioner shoe. Started the engine, it idled silently.
After i got the title I started it up for him. I have a mean streak too.
Chek your tensioner, your cam timing, chain slop, it's all easy stuff.
Somehow I doubt it.
You really want the problem to be the chain as the alternative could be quite nasty.![]()
i want my bike fixed, i have done everything that has been suggested to check
Again,
Are you sure the setscrew has been released?
