This is interesting.... That test data was from 1994 so in theory unless anything has changed in motorbike oils drastically then they should be even closer together now as car technology is always improving.
In Europe we have much longer oil service intervals on cars & bikes without much detriment from my experience - obviously changing it sooner is better, but how much relatively??
Just one thought - I've read before that it's not a good idea to change an engine that has been using mineral based oils over to Fully synthetic & that the most you should do is go for a semi synthetic, anyone like to comment on that? The reasoning given was that it could lead to problems with oil seals breaking down.
