A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

bike started as a stock 1981 gs450l. it weighed in at 410lbs with a full tank of gas. weighed it this past week and it now weighs 340lbs with a full tank. dont laugh its a work in progress, especially after my neighbor dropped it
wow-70lbs eh? by the way-interesting forkbrace there!-not laughing- that's a new use for my rusted fender...

The forward control mount kit from TC Brothers was for the DOHC Honda CB750. The rest was universal.

the rust on the front fender/brace, was only surface rust. i sanded it down and put primer on it for now. my main thing next is fix the tank and add to padding my seat. my bike may go on the back burner for a while. a friend of mine is deploying overseas and I planning on rebuilding his bike for him while he is gone. i plan to have it complete and ready to ride by the time he gets home. after his bike is done, i will plan to tear mine down and clean it up

After sorting out some junk in the garage these two ended up side by side.
'78 Cooley Clone and '65/'66 CB160. Both very fun to ride.

Nice GS of course.....but that 160 is mint! I use to have a 68 CL175 with the sloper motor - it was surprisingly fast for it's size.

If i remember right the Sloper was also a 5 speed.
Even with this only being a 160 i am always searching for another gear. It gets buzzy in fourth.

Here is my old 82' GS1100GK. Cut up a bit. Sold it a few months back.

How i bought it.

Very nice Kat.
Did Chef jet those carbs for your pods and pipe? No blue on the pipes...very nice.
Whats up with the London cab in the background?

the pipes are new so they haven't blued yet. used a DJ stage 3 kit. the cab belongs to a guy across the street who works at Rutgers. he paid like $9500 for it. he works on it more than I work on my M/C's.leaks diesel all over the place.

Here is my 1982 GS450T, mixed in are GS850 & GS250 spoke wheels, GSX front end, chopped frame, homemade rear sets, and powder coated gloss black.

"That looks pretty nice. I didn't know 850's had spokes? "

I bought it used from a guy who fixes bikes on the side, it had GS850 tagged on it with a lot of other 850 parts in the same area of his garage, but It could be something else? Any suggestions, I have seen pictures of 750's with spokes.
