A number of years ago now, I wanted to get into motorcycles, stumbled across a 1980 gs550 locally, and then went down some rabbit holes. Now, I'm married, we have a 1yo baby, and I have a long list of hobbies and interests that are higher priorities.
I haven't had a chance to pull everything out to photograph, but I'm wondering if there's anyone who might be interested in purchasing any or all of what I have, located in Olympia, WA (near Seattle.)
A non-exhaustive list:
-1980 gs550L with a clean title
'Original-looking exhaust headers but (maybe?) VW mufflers
-half-finished conversion to gs500 front forks with racetech cartridge emulators using a... gs1000(I think, I'd have to double-check) triple tree
-includes gs500 front caliper and brand new rotor
-tank was stripped and got a liquid liner coating and decent rattle can paint job
-one full rack of 550 carbs + a second set, one of which has a broken float post
-a ~1979 gs550 engine w/ kickstart
-a gs650 engine
-custom copper head gasket from group buy for wiseco 740cc overbore (just the gasket, no pistons)
-new rear brake master cylinder
-new chain
...
I also have a few specialty tools that I could include in a deal like the long screwdriver/wrench combo for balancing carbs, and a 4 channel vacuum manometer, chain braker, probably others I'm not thinking of.
I'd rather sell to someone who has a bit of knowledge about these bikes than trying to dump a 45yo bike on some unsuspecting kid like I was so if there's any interest I'll make the time to pull everything out to photograph and make a complete list. Otherwise it'll probably just sit until the fall after I'm mostly done with the vegetable garden and painting our house.
