Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

that happen only on motorway, when i drive in street i don't have this problem

happen only i high speed

somebody knows what could causes that?

sorry for my bad english, is not my first language

Dirty or unsynced carb problems are seen during all phases of operation, usually. It may be a clog in the fuel line limiting the flow of fuel to the carbs.

There are also several "jets" that control how much gas flows throught the carbs at certain throttle positions. Uhm... someone posted a picture a while back of which jets open at what throttle position.

My first guess would be a resticted fuel line.

For sure check your feed into the carbs (filter and lines). If not that, you will probably have to get the carbs cleaned really good.

if i go to a suzuki store and i ask to clean my carb, that will resolve the problem u think?

Could be the float levels are set too low. Not letting enough gas into the bowls and when you go faster, they are emptied faster. If you have any kind of mechanical ability, I would recommend you get a book, check out the carb rebuild section of this website and do it yourself. My local Suzuki shop told me it would cost $200 for the labor plus parts to have my carbs rebuilt. I did it myself, and they work just fine. It's a simple process, just takes a little time and patience.

i have the book for my bike but that seem hard

i need to only clean car or change piece in it?

The shop I went to only charged $175. That was for carb rebuild/sync, check valve train, change plugs and check fluids. $175 for parts and labor.

tomorrow i will go to my suzuki reseller to take my fuel filter...
i will ask to how that cost

Fuel filters are easy to clean. Simply reverse the flow through them for a bit. In-line filters I can run a shot of compressed air through them to get a good clean. The in-tank filter can be cleaned with soap and water (its plastic and a very fine metal screen), allowed to dry and reinstalled. If you go as far as to pull the in-tank filter, you might as well clean your tank out too.

Fuel delivery on motorcycles do not necessarily coincide with speed, but has to do with throttle position. You could use more fuel at 70 KPH if you were in 1st gear and full throttle than you would by doing 130 KPH in 5th gear at 1/4th throttle. So, if it's starvation of any form, he should be able to make it happen by just getting on it hard (full throttle). In fact, he should be using LESS fuel on the "motorway" than he would if he was getting on it around town -- during half, to full throttle, acceleration.

OS2, do you have problems making it go fast from a stop sign?

Roger Moore

OS2 Pull the petcock from the tank and check the fine mesh filter on the tank side of the petcock. You may have very fine rust in the tank collecting on the screen and when you shut off for a few seconds the rust comes off the screen and you can run for a short ways again.Does this sound like what is happening?

dallyr, is not my fuel filter, it's my air filter. It is a lot dirty i tried to clean it with compressed air but nothing seem to remove....

will receive it tomorrow i bought it lastweek

Roger Moore, no i don't have problem, i have good aceleration with it

hoyterb, i don't really understand...
petcock it's the place where u put fuel?

I had a similar problem once on my '83 GS750ES. After riding awhile at high speed the bike would die and I would have to sit a few minutes before it would restart. What it turned out to be was a fuel tank vent problem. The vent line under the tank was pinched somewhere. I was also using a tankbag and I imagine it was sealing the gas cap from properly venting too. This all resulted in a vacuum in the tank that wouldn't allow fuel to flow.

OK, so it's not an issue of immediate supply, but prolonged supply (if it's a gas issue at all). A vent issue can be easily checked buy just riding it one time with the cap off, or part way on (although I don't know if you can do that). Don't do it on a full tank, we wouldn't want gas to splash out.

Chances are, if it's a vent issue, you can ride it hard in town because you always have stop signs and signals to allow the bowls to fill up again while in an idle state, but if the flow is steady it'll run the bowls low. Axel may have something there...

Roger

How long can you ride it in town, low speed, with no problems? All day?

Could be a vent problem - clean out the tank cap, may be crud in it.

Also I have had the filters clog through bad gas etc. Is there a good flow of petrol through the tap, if you have a fuel filter does it flow more with or without it. If flow from the tap is poor, clean the unternal fine mesh.

Those are the main reas. Just a matter of logical elimination of one or more problem.....

i have a rendez-vous next week

today, i had some trouble to accelerated
the acceleration was slow

problem with carb u think?
