Hey all -

Ordered my new rear tire and on to ordering other parts to keep me from going crooked again.

The progressive fork springs seem to be basic, the 11-1107 kit is the one indicated for my model. Powersport superstore hes them for less than $60 - http://www.powersportsuperstore.com...n-11-1107-FRK-SPG-HO-YA-KA-SU-p/tr77-1107.htm

My question is, has anyone bought from these guys? Am I missing something? I thought the rears alone would cost me over $300 and budget is a big issue, so I'm pleasantly surprised. Was even able to head over to their Facebook page where it seems they're handing out coupon codes for free shipping.

Did you price out springs, too? I think the 412s are sold without 'em.

Good call. I wondered that, and Progressive told me the 412's come with springs and list at $299, which matches the description on Powersport Superstore site.

They don't sell them incl of springs. A lot of places I've look at don't. You can plan on about $70 for black & $95 for Chrome springs.

If it means anything they are an Amazon Partner. I went ahead and ordered a pair of fork springs for my 850 project from them for that price. Of course I ended up having to pay sales tax on them but I think it was still a good price.

The 412's do come with the springs included at least of last year. I also saw the Powersports pricing before I bought mine and had no feedback on them so I called Dennis Kirk and they price matched. They were in stock and I got them in two days. I have both the 412-4211C Reg Spring and 412-4212C HD Spring versions. I personally prefer the HD version slightly but either is a good deal IMHO at $ 215 or so delivered.

Hmmm.

I tip the scales around two bills, but more like 215 lately. But, I usually ride solo and unloaded - maybe once/year I'll do a multi-day trip with maybe 70lbs of gear tops.

So I'm still planning on the standard 412's, but what do you think?

The 412's do come with the springs included at least of last year. I also saw the Powersports pricing before I bought mine and had no feedback on them so I called Dennis Kirk and they price matched. They were in stock and I got them in two days. I have both the 412-4211C Reg Spring and 412-4212C HD Spring versions. I ordered front springs and rear shocks from them. It took along time to receive the items, about 2 weeks from what I recall. I don't think they stock a lot of the the items they sell. If you don't mind waiting the savings are significant.

I personally would lean to the HD's and would buy them again but I have run out of bikes to re-fit. :dancing: I am about 180 and also ride mostly one up on all kinds of roads. The Regs (1000L) I have at one notch on pre-load and the HD's (850L) with no pre-load. I am pretty sure the G's and GL's are pretty close on overall weight but do not know for sure. My bikes are all between 540 to 550dry weight although the 1000 has a V & H so it is maybe # 20 lighter than the manual says. The HD's are slightly firmer but they both are not harsh at all IMHO. If you are replacing OEM's you will wonder why you waited so long to do it.

I checked Dennis Kirk still has free shipping over $ 100. When I got mine, I called them, got a live (believe it or not) customer service person, and they went to the Powersports website, made a dummy order, price matched, and I had them in two days. It took about 15 minutes to do this but I will always give DK the chance to match prices, great company, great customer service, shows what is in stock (yours are BTW for all three items you need), and they get them out right away.

Still on the fence about getting the HD's, but with a potential of 2 weeks wait on the parts compared to 2 days, I'll definitely give DK a shot.

I remember ordering from another outfit that took weeks, but their prices on airbox boot were so much lower it was worth it.

Since this is the thread that prompted my purchase of fork springs from Powersports Superstore earlier today and there was some comments about them being somewhat slow, I figured I would post that I just received an email stating my order had shipped. Not to shabby.

Did they say where they were being shipped from? Are the springs being shipped from progressive to Power Sports Superstore, only to be boxed and then shipped to you?

Not sure, they sent me a UPS tracking number but it doesn't have any information yet. I would assume since they gave me a tracking number it is on its way to me. I will update when I know more.

I don't have any issues with them. The money I saved on all the items I ordered was well worth the wait. I had another bike at the time to ride anyway so it was no big deal.

OK, I've ordered 412's and fork springs from PSS. Here's the scoop:

Dennis Kirk does indeed price match, and was really cool about it. But there are some caveats.
1.) The item has to be over $100 (except for tires and helmets)
2.) Their price is item cost + the other company's UPS ground shipping cost

This meant 2 things...
1.) The free shipping code I got from PSS (via their Facebook fan page) was moot and, in fact, I'd be sort of be paying for shipping twice with DK.
2.) I couldn't save the $30 on the fork springs since they were under $100

Those factors plus the fact that I'm losing lots of free time [Boo] because I'm starting a new job tomorrow [Way bigger YAY!] meant that I very politely said "OK, thanks anyway" to the nice lady at DK and ordered from PSS.

Between discounts and free shipping I think I saved about $100 which I'll put toward stainless brake lines and caliper rebuilds - hopefully next month.

Already have a pair in the front of my 1100L and I was happy with the way it feels at the front now, much stiffer.

UPS have just been and delivered a box big enough for me to physically get in! After pulling enough packing out to pretty much cover the garage floor, I found a box with my 11-1107 progressive springs. Good deal at $58 and fast enough for me to be real happy.
