Question for all you drag racers.

Not sure if this should be here or in the tech section but since it is performance related I'll put it here.
When you talk about using struts on a drag bike, what exactly are they? Are they just solid metal bars to lock the rear suspension like a hardtail, or are they more like a strut that you would use to hold say a liftgate up on a vehicle?
Also if the bike originally had a monoshock, would you use just one to replace the mono, or set it up for two struts like a twin shock bike. Thanks,

Struts repalce shocks. They do away with your suspension. A street tire no bar bike will perform better at the track with rear suspension. You re-work the shock to perform for drag racing...YOu wnat your drag shock to compress easily and NOT rebound very quick. Struts are mostly used on bar and slick bikes. The outlaw streetbike classes use slicks and shocks..All out drag bikes have no rear suspension to begin with. they are either a drag frame or "back halfed" street frames.

Struts are when you get your timeslip from the tower and it's your fast'est run ever, then you just do the Strut walk back to your bike..........I know guys..................idiot :idea: .
