Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

The words insight and incite are pronounced the same. But one of them will get you banned and the other will not. Before hitting the Submit button be certain which of the two better describes your post.

    A note to new registrants...
All new forum registrations must be activated via email before you have full access to the forum.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Random Photo thread

Bit of an argument broke out here in 1798. Thirty thousand died in the county in a month.
That monument marks the spot of one of the scuffles.

Just had a read about that.... terrible events.. We were around those parts in 2019, the wife has Cooper clergy family, visited Killann, the rectory and Monksgrange..... fabulous country....

I love it. Fun stuff. Flipping reflection shots can be a real mind F. I was recently going thru my camera roll and came across a pic that didn’t quite make sense. Turns out that I had flipped a reflection shot and forgot about it.

Interesting how the mind often needs to find and apply logic to what it sees instead of just observing it.

You've got some great ones. I like the one with the brick wall background over the puddle. You flipped and cropped it and it always puzzled me till I stumbled acrossed the full pic.

This one on my PC has the inverted mirror image which is way cool, but on the phone's smaller screen they are two separate images. Glad you didn't mind us monkeying around with it.

You're surely an honorary Yellowbelly at that rate :)

Not at all. Bob took one of my pics and added the infamous Bernie mittens picture. I don't think it made it to GSR, but its quite funny.
Well to be fair, that photo just screamed for Bernie....LOL...I think it would have been better if he was a little more obscured.

Beatiful. To my eye, the transitioning colors almost make it appear to be spinning. Until the bugs are seen.

Thanks.

Hmmmm....good point. Might be worth rendering one without the bugs...

Just a tulip, Dave. Early in the day before it opened.
Ah... hence the "morning..... opening soon".
Ah.... And the focus stacking removed any depth perception.
Ah.... is globe shaped, tulip, not open pedals like an pansy would have.

Interesting image.

Crocus, about 2 inches or less.

Stopped in to see Charmayne in Newark after getting the Bandit's new PR4s last night. Between getting there just after the sun dropped below the horizon, forgetting to grab my tripod before leaving Dayton, and doing "THE DANCE", most of my touristy shots didn't come out very nice. The gold roof on the courthouse looks great during the day
