Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Random Photo thread

A little photo expedition for the morning sunrize.
Was pulling out the driveway, when thought that, hey, I havent decided where to go yet.
So went to closeest place with good view to the east.
Didnt have any color in sunrise due to heavy cloud cover.

(doah.. I need to pay better attention to that level indicator.)

Was quite a solitary outing.
Stood there listening to the geese and ducks and redwing blackbirds.

I have to give some perspective here so the Great Miami River from back in February:

And then just this past Thursday night into Friday morning saw sheets of rain coming down (Miamisburg got over 3.5"). After seeing some of the river level from Art Institute, I had to ride over and get a better view. The river was so high I couldn't go out where I did last time for the above picture and instead had to stand further over just for this:

I noticed these geese cleaning themselves but stood in the wrong spot or wasn't fast enough on the shutter to get the wings flapping at the right time

Thanks. One of those rare moments where I quickly found a nice shot when arriving.
I took a series of shots and a few other views from the same spot and said to myself "I can go home now". Thankfully I reviewed my pics before leaving - i went back for a few more which were better after breaking off a pesky small dead branch that was junking up the background. Those plants were growing in a knot hole on a tree leaning into a lake

As much of springtime that we have around here.

Tried some close focus with old Minolta 35-70 lens adapted for use on Panosonic Micro FourThirds camera.

Thanks Steve, it's an old truck. A late 40s International I think.
There's one piece of stainless trim hanging on, and there were a few on the ground as well.

Went downtown for a walk to clear the head after work. Of the several I shot, only a small handful were worth keeping - doesn't help to be too far away I guess. Nice thing is the river levels are dropping again.

And no, this is not an island around the pylon

This is not nearly as cool as what you guys have been posting, but here goes.

This is Maddigan (Maddie) our terrier mix. we walked to an old T-ball field my kids played at nearly 25 years ago. Home plate on the left and the tattered dugout behind her.
