DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thanks Scott. It was an interesting night with interesting timing. I was sidetracked doing other stuff and almost didn?t bother to go out, but did. I saw the moon low in the sky and immediately knew where I wanted to go.

When I got there the sky was clear. The low fog slowly came in, thickened up, then was gone all in about a half hour.
Also interesting was the lens usage. The top picture was the 50mm adapted, and the bottom was the bigger zoom.

Ha, I like the interpretation, and you captured some nice light on Beau's head, which I know is tough with a black dog.

I was looking at that image of mine again last night and it has grown on me, which isn't to say that I didn't like it initially. I think the trees managed to give it some depth and a frame. I'm surprised it even worked, as it was taken handheld with the adapted lens. There was an area of tall weeds in the foreground that the tripod was too short to clear. Bringing my glasses, and the focus aids helped immensely. The adapted, and longer zoom lenses have turned out some nice results on the last two outings.

I lost one of my lens back covers over on Saturday night. I think it fell between some large rocks by the dam where I set up. New ones are on their way.

. . . . . . . . . . We were the only ones up there today.
.

Wow.

ANy place I Have ever been, anywhere close to that picturesque, those flowers would not be there due to the foot traffic of people/tourist.

Thanks Dave. It is a little out of the way for most folks though. A 1/2 hour drive on pavement then 1 1/2 hour drive on a crappy backroad (25km and 3,500 ft elev.) ending with a 1 hour steep hike for the last 1,200 ft elev. So no, not a lot of tourists. Trail log book showed only 4 parties up there in the last week. Actually we consider any road you can get up a good road. LOL

Thanks. I liked the symmetry and shape.
My son had been asking for another morning bike ride at the resevior. Pictures weren't the main reason to go, but I still brought the camera.
It has changed a lot since my visits in the early summer. The water level is much lower. Where I was wading then we rode our bikes on today, and the spots where I took the pics of the lilies, lily pads, etc are dry now.
The pic was taken from the water's edge.
