Deliberate anti-social activity including personal insults, profanity, pornography, racism, threats and purposely inflammatory posts may result in suspension of forum access or possibly a permanent ban from GSR.

DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Random Photo thread

Umm, I don't think this should be like this:

This past Saturday I heard a loud clank while driving my 2005 Ford F350 (352,000 miles on it now) to the high school's freshman/JV football game. I wasn't able to check the truck at the school but did so when I got to Ace Hardware after the game. Imaging the shock when I found my gas tank's mounts had rusted out (thanks Ohio) and broke causing the tank to fall like this. Ford is fixing it for me and I hope I'll have the truck back next week.

The photo geek in me read "macro". Great shot.

Scott, thats a tough one. I hate rust.

Sandy, I like how the blue jackets really stand out.

GPS took me on a wayward route between jobs yesterday. Found a spot. Cross Gardens. There was even room to park the work van. No great images in the woods / by the creek yesterday. The garden was fun today. The overcast skies and everything being wet from rain made for some great lighting and surfaces.

I swear there is an alien laying there watching the column

I wanted to find something catching downtown tonight more in the abandoned building area but once I got over there I thought better of it. So, ran back to the other side of town and took 4 times around the block before I could finally get to the right spot

One more stop around the corner to grab this tribute to the Wright Brother's 12-second flight. The design mimics the actual flight path with a set of wings at each second of the flight

Scott, is that with the F1.8 lens and handheld?

Scott, that image is cropped quite a bit. I liked juxtaposition of curve and straight. I later realized that the vines look like a giant hand claw thing.

Glen, both pictures were using my 35mm lens with the mural taken at f1.8 on the tripod. I held the camera for the sculpture with it set at f2.5; oh and both were shot at ISO 100

Nice. I may start looking for a faster lens. Christmas is approaching after all. I'm half tempted to look for an old school lens to adapt on the cheap.

Spent the last week or so of open water season at the cabin. After a continuous four day blow from the west the lee shores of the lake were covered with frozen spray up about 5 feet. Some of it was pure sculpture.

Very cool ...pun intended. Reminds me a lot of being a kid on the shores of Lake Ontario when a winter storm passed through.

This is completely random and not a great pic. But it made me laugh so hard I cried. Wife was cleaning up the Italian Wedding Soup my mom had made for dinner (yumm). I'm sitting on the couch after having done the other dishes. All of a sudden I hear SPLOOSH, and "Ah SH[T!!!" I looked over to see this. Well, I started laughing harder than I've laughed in a long time. She apparently didn't find the situation nearly as amusing as I did. She stormed out the door to the deck to hose off. She was mad that I was laughing so hard and that she had just mopped the floor. She may not talk to me for a few days. She'll get over it. It was worth the laugh. Guess who cleaned up?
