DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

What Bob said. The bottom one looks a bit overcooked. Seems to be the popular thing these days.
Definitely a beautiful scene.

Yep, at it again.

I could stop anytime I wanted.

Heavy cloud cover all day, so think probably would be no sunset.
But I checked a beach web cam about an hour and half before sunset, and saw an area of thinner clouds at the horizon in about the area I knew would be the sunset. So I went for ride down there about an hour before sunset.
Was a little bit of sunset color thru that area.

But what was even better was the twilight color comming up thru there after sunset. Twilight color was fairly low in the sky, but with teleophotoe lens that aera filled the frame. Was still twigilight color in sky when was dark enough for the pier lights to come on. Good thing I brought tripod this time.

That will be my rehabilitation effort. No pier sunset photos before 4pm.

I've been lazy. Posting on FB is easy, my tablet I link Flickr images from is really slow, and soon I'm going to have to ante up at Flickr as I'm approaing the limit of free.

I'll get some pics up here soon.

Except for last night when I tripped and fell :D. There was a small step down I didn't see. My Sears lens got dinged - superficial thankfully.
The top two were at a park I found last week. Its an odd juxtaposition of a place, surrounded by the turnpike, major commuter railroad, capped landfills, power lines, etc, yet nature thrives. One of the walking paths shares space with two sets of hit tension power line towers.
It was windy that day so I had probably at least 20 bad butterfly shots.

Glen,
Nice shorescape. Lots of curvey lines, more than most shorescapes.

And, hey! a flutterbye close up, nicely posed.

THe two trucks are interesting in how see the front ends but the remainder just fade away in the shadows, but not definite shadows.

Seems like you are getting out on a regular basis.

Ding in your lens? I did something like that to a lens (wide angle, fixed) to where it is hard to adjust the focus. Drat.

Well, I held off for 48 hours , 'cuz was out of town.

Got home this evening when was looking like an orange sunset developing.
And so headed down there. Enroute I could see orange blaze way up into the sky, maybe 45dgrees up.
But was fading before got there.

Made it down there for twilight.

Keep in mind that the two beacon lights flash at different rates and durations. Takes a bit of effort to catch both on at the same time. And then also when trying to catch it after a wave recedes.... adds more to the challenge.
