A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

fantastic product, Every gs rocker should have one. Higly recommended, thank you real gaskets.

Great stuff, indeed, but those who have a bike with the tach drive in the valve cover instead of the head should think twice.

The extra thickness of the gasket might prevent proper engagement of the tach drive gear. Problems have been reported.

i am a fortunate one. I bought the real gasket and like it but i don't have to worry about the tach gear not lining up as others have had that issue.

Yea... did not work for me, broke the old tach cable, and a replacement cable. Also trying to get it low enough to engage the gear mixed with the gasket for my model having 1 bolt hole missing on the gasket left me trashing it with this springs shim check.

Not worth the extra $$ in my experience.... They work well the first couple of times but certainly don't last forever :)

didn't even consider the tacho gear engagement. Tach works fine still.
I imagine this gasket lasting more than afew adjustments but we will see.
Im still pretty happy with it even if I can't spell "awesome"

All depends if the drive is in the head or the cover. GS1000 has it in the head so no probs. I think it was some of the 550's that had the stripped tach gear issues with these gaskets.

I reckon you'll get 4 remove/re-fits before you'll need to change it....

Dan :)
