A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I have searched Ebay, Z1, Sirius Consolidated, George Fix and a few others searchig for a front master rebuild kit for a 80 GS1000S. Its the one with the square plug with an oring and a seal around the plunger shaft. Anyone have a source or maybe the KL Supply kit number? I cant tell if vits leakingbfrom the oring or the cup seal or from both. Anyone know what other models use this style piston?

What happeed to the 10 picture allotment like before? Anyway the piston slides throught the assembly. Also has anyone sucessfully soaked these seals to swell them up?

Well, my mint solution says it's incompatible with brake fluid, so, I have used it on brake seals

I have plugged that number in many sources amd nothing found. My thought is wonder if a regular gs 1000 kit will work in it.Any S model owners have info?

Wrong................... this isnt for an 80 S model Cooley. Thats for a Katana

It is mentioned in the first post AND theres a post with pictures... When you look at compatable vehicles listed it say 1982 1000S. NOT 1980. So the 82 S model is a Katana not a Cooley.

Chuck. Am I missing something? This is from the ebay link in post # 9 from Suzukian. However, the square piece you show in post # 1 does not appear to be shown in the pics on this ebay listing. So.. idk.

Chuck, just wondering, I'm sure you've already looked, is this master listed for the "80" GS1000S only, or was it used for any other GS's

I have searched many models and years to see what guts they use and so far ive come to dead ends.Rich and i discussed and came to the conclusion that the 80 850G has the same bore and is a dual disc bike so im going to rebuild the one i ordered. BUT n the interum ill still look for the cooley kit if it takes a year for one to pop up on ebay. Then if one ever shows up his OEM master can be rebuilt and put back on... or be ready if he should choose that route.

Why not pull the seal off a different 5/8" bore master and put it on your plunger? Regarding the O-ring, measure the size and then check McMaster? There are O-ring materials that resist brake fluid. Maybe you will get lucky and find the right size.

RICH...... thats exactly the dilema.

Well, my wife usually calls me the problem, not the dilemma, but whatever. :)

Ed, that's my plan, when I get everything back from Chuck and have the physical parts in hand I'll look for stuff that might work. No point in Chuck spending too much time on it when we have a good workaround available.
