A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Riding Game

I see what you mean. Where did the 48 hr.'s come from ?
The 48hrs came from misinterpreting the 48 hr rule that if no one gets the tag, they change it.:)
Holy crap this is 20min of my life that I will never get back!!:p

I have put 6500 miles on my bike in the last 6 months in Canada! I wouldn't say that this game gets me out riding. I don't know why you guys keep saying "it's not a competition" I never said it was. And good for you not caring if there is a new tag posted before you go out. And if you don't care if it is not posted for a month than you clearly won't mind if we insist that it be posted all in one post.:)

Trevor...I know you ride the heck out of your bike...:)

I am just trying to understand this...
You guys can call me an ahole all you want but I'm with Rick either this speeds up or I am out of here too.
Now I would never call you an @hole....but I don't get the I am out of here thing...

I don't whine, I rant and if you haven't noticed, I haven't been playing. Anybody doing the whineing are the ones who have come out of winter hibernation all cranky and stiff and slowed the game to a crawl. I wasn't here when the game started, but I did read it before I played. So don't give me a load of crap about how it's played. Others complained about the slow pace back when it started. Amazingly it's the same ones slowing it down again.

I'll get it after work today. Was going to ride but it was a balmy 48 degrees. Too cold for me on a 32 mile trek to work.

You need to get some good gear, son....48? is a perfectly good riding temp...:D

The Fennimore Rally is in October and when we talk you into going, you're going to need it...

Eric...do they put down salt out there? Just curious...

I won't take the bikes or the Miata out after the salt goes down....

I remember those tags, back when it was fun. Your wife must have your balls, they apparently don't freeze off. lol PS Thats a mighty cute avitar you have there. You are Eric, right?

Salt/sand lots of un-fun things.
I usually wait a couple of days for the cages to blow most of it off of the roads or at least where their tires pass before riding.
Sand covering everywhere makes for some dangerous riding conditions.
Coupled with high cross-winds, downright scary!
Nothing compares to riding on ball bearings while being blown around on street tires. :(

That doesn't work around here...they put so much salt down it isn't gone until it rains a few times in the spring...
I hate corrosion...

I do have some warm winter gear. Just sucks trying to strap it to that back of the bike with a loaded computer bag for the ride home in the 70s. So I choose to drive the warm comfy quiet blazer on those chilly mornings. Will be riding in tomorrow...

The snow carries most of the salt away and leaves the sand after the roads dry.
Then, it is just the left over patches of ice and sand to worry about.

Eric

You can have all that winter riding! I was built for warm weather. I don't have any natural insulation for that cold crap. :p

Sounds like you need some saddle bags, then....:D:p;)

I hate the cold but, LOVE to ride more. ;)
I where the same gear all year long. Unzip the vents and even remove the liner in the jacket when it gets over 85.
I, also, have no (un)natural fat layer to keep me warm either.

Eric

Saddlebags?!?!!?? On MY bike?? HELL NO! I'm a warm weather rider. I hate to be cold. Being cold would just ruin the ride for me. Just isn't fun.
