A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

New tag is any type of "natural disaster" had some better spots but was getting dark so the side of the highway will have to do. This was from the tornado we got a few weeks back, this strip was right next to one of the bridges we are rebuilding and just missed it.

Close up of some of the trees, the stretches where it crosse houses or down town areas was much worse... luckily it traveled through a lot of woods too.

That caboose is a little different. It doesn't have the cupola on it, just has the "bay" windows. No natural disasters in my area for quite awhile around here, I'd have to go down to Wadena (not too far) to get pictures of last year's F5 tornado carnage (still not fully cleaned up), or the Twin Cities for pictures of their recent tornado damage.

Like most of these can be creative if needed to keep it going, lets see if anyone has anything recent. Guess the one here was rated F3 but last tornado in these parts was like in the 40s so we are not used to it. I had no clue any of that was going on when I left work during all that.

Edit, also your call on the caboose its old but I saw rivets and looks to be mostly metal sided. They closed that line down way back and even had a pretty serious derailment around 1900. My old house had a slate roof over wood shingles, story goes the derailment was freight cars of slate so they sold them cheap to the houses nearby.

From the looks of it, that's probably one of the older wood sided cabooses updated. I think the cupola must have been removed and the bay windows added (just from looking at the design). It looks like someone used it for living in at one time, with the frosted window in the bay window. It's interesting, it makes a good tag.

I think its used as an exhibit of some sorts, the small station behind it is fully renovated and is actually used as the local registry of motor vehicles.

Tornado ripped through rural NH in summer, 2008 for 40-50 miles and they're still logging off the stuff to this day. Destructive ones are as rare as in MA but this is our recent notable one. The thick woods used to come right up to the road here in Barnstead, NH but the house across the street (about where I'm taking the pic) was not touched.

new tag....Airport traffic control tower....jet in pic not required, but you'll see a Southwest one if you look close....

I just went to 2 regional airports. 1 had been closed for a while, so hope was dim but it was nearby. Then I rode to what used to be called Mount Comfort Airport, where they hold the annual air show, complete with Blue Angels. It is now called Indianapolis Regional Airport, and for the life of me, there is no control tower. How do they control the flights in and out?:-s:confused:

Flights need no control. They do just fine on their own.
It's just job security for some feds.

Here ya go, lol!

Hey, wait a minute...I think you cut and pasted that trailer in the pic of your backyard grassy airstrip in the "hills" of NJ...they're always 2 story trailers, right? The higher grass makes for softer landings. But how did you ride that GS out there without your gear on?

Yea, I can get it...I'll just head west before going home out east.

I'm assuming Tom must be at work if he has all that and no bike.

Edit:

Peterson AFB's and Colorado Springs Airport's Tower (see blue arrow). I could have taken it on base but I might have had some more unpleasant looks than I would have gotten otherwise.

Next tag - A Fedex, DHL, or UPS truck
