    A note to old forum members...
    I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

    Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

    Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

    If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

    If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Was on the way home from work on the 77 750. Was at the light and nothing for the next mile or so ahead of me, so I wanted to play a little. Got going and was screaming it at the higher end of the power band thru all gears..shifting at around 7500 or so.

So when i cam to the corner light, the RPMs were now settling at around 3000 where they were idling at 1000 before hand. all the pipes were super hot at 1000 before my little "run" and seemed to be running very well. Had to readjust the idle back down and its running exactly the same as it was before hand..puzzling.

No hanging idle or nothing else out of the ordinary. Best I can think is that maybe a small bit of whatever may have been sucked thru the carbs??? What do you guys think went down here???
 
What's the ignition trigger ? If it's a centrifugal advancer, I've seen similar symptoms when it's a bit sticky ie doesn't retard right back to the stop.
 
Yeah it has the mechanical advance governor behind the timing plate...so that will be looked at...thanks.

I was also going to suggest the mechanical advancer. I haven't had a Suzuki one give a problem, but I have had them wear on other brands, and develop a place on the slot where the pins on the weights can hang up.
 
Didnt find anything out of sorts. Weights werent sticking and arent rusty. One of those odd things that I havent ever had happen before!! Hasnt repeated itself either. Still idling right at 1,000 from when i turned the idle down before. Very wierd.

I am without any explanations. Plugs caps are good, good wire to cap connections, petcock flowing a good thick stream from the fuel nipple. no fuel line kinks...dont know.
 
Thats exactly what I am doing!!! I even took it on an out of the way road and ragged the helll out of it again and nothing..ran like it should and never repeated.........I will just call this an "incidental tune up" LOL
