A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I posted this in the general page before i found this one. i think this is the right area to ask. I had three sites saved for parts for my rebuild who had these parts in stock. my computer crashed and i lost all of my saved sites. I am looking again for sites that sell case savers and fork braces for my 79 gs550e. i would really appreciate if anyone has a vintage parts site for me to use. I started a thread on my rebuild in the project page.. Thanks Phil

Try Ebay for the case savers. No idea about the the fork braces but if you find out I'd be interested too

Regarding fork braces, tkat makes great stuff and could easily make up any brace you want. You may need to take some measurements for a good fit. Email him: tkat@tkat.com and he will let you known what he can do. He is a great guy to deal with. I've bought a brace for my Yamaha xs1100 and for my suzuki s40 off him. The product is aluminum and cnc machined. It shined up easily with some mothers polish and fits like a glove. Price will probably be around $115.

Bikebandit and eBay is where I've gotten most of my 550T parts. I use google a lot when doing parts searches.

Bikebandit is reasonable and they ship pretty fast. Plus you can earn Bandit Bucks on purchases. Free shipping on orders over $100 too.

Suzukipartshouse.com I go to if Bikebandit does not have something.

Actually AKC, Bike Bandit is one of the companies that charge the most for their parts. You'll get better pricing and service from Parts Outlaw in Florida or Z1 Enterprises in New York

I've used Bike Bandit in the past. I just switched to Parts Outlaw based on advice from this forum. Assuming that my first order with them arrives timely and correct, I'll have made out like a bandit on the prices.

Good tip I'll check them out!

Thanks Guys.. After 3 days of searching i found a pair of 3 bar MC enterprise motor case savers Brand new for $40 when i stopped looking.. I found the fork brace you posted and ordered an oil cooler. I had the oil motor case adapter/bypass.

Check cheapmotorcycleparts.com also. I have found them to be reasonable. Its the oem side of competition acc's.
