A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I was perusing Motorcyclist Retro and saw and ad for Sito exhaust at LeoVince.

They have an exhaust listed for a 1982 GS 1100 S

Anyone know anything about these?

Does the magazine article have a website address for here in the US? Last I checked, Sito has very limited distribution here and the pipes are expensive.

I emailed LeoVince and since I first posted they responded to me. Looks like it is OEM style only for 1982 GS 1100 S.

no i havent tried to sit on my exhaust never mind yourse... and further more i wouldnt and dont recommend you do that ither....particulairlly if you have just run the engine..

Wow Those look great. They look almost stock. I'm going to remember that (I hope) Anybody have any experience with them?

One of my 850's has some rust bummps hiding inder the chrome. no holes yet, but I didn't want to go with a MAC. Those look like a reasonable alternative.

The Sito mufflers look, sound, and fits great on my 79' GS850GN! A much better alternative to the "fits-alls" and "weed burner" options out there.

Is there anyone that makes just the header and 2n1 collector? Something designed for slip on mufflers? Tough I like the price and style with the lack of cross over H pipe

Sitos are a pretty common affordable stock replacement option in Europe. I had them on my GS1100, took them off for a 4-1 to save weight and my header pipes were rusty too.

Fit and sound are usually very close to stock. The quality especially of the chrome is not as good as stock, but acceptable.

Essentially if you liked the stock system and your orig. mufflers are rusted or falling apart they are a decent option. And at least here the cheapest one!
