I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Small leak on main gasket, any chance of making it stop?

I have a small leak on my main gasket (between crankcase and cylinders). I'm wondering if there is anything I can do about it besides tearing my engine down?

I know additives are bad. Is there a surface treatment I can do? Any tips would be great.

Thanks,

Aside from replacing the gasket there is not much that can be done. You could try re- torquing the head bolts but its doubtful that would help.

When you say small, how small is small?? Will it last you the rest of the season? You MIGHT try cleaning the area VERY VERY well and running a thin bead of clear, high temp silicone around it. It might last you the rest of the riding season, but it will likely need replaced this winter. Dont worry, its not TOOO tough. Also, double check you're not overfull on oil. Should NOT be over the "F" mark in the window. If it is, it will start to show you where the OTHER weak points in your gaskets are. If you are over full, drain a bit, it may help slow down that base gasket leak too..

The leak is slow. It will last me the season. Over time, it slowly wraps around to the sides of the engine, but only a thin coating. Haremph. I've pulled a head before, but not cyls. Gaskets are expensive too. Shoot.
