A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Sold a bike at 12:30 am this morning

I?ve been doing car flips for years. Mostly 40s through 70s American.3 years ago I was doing 380-560sl Mercedes because I had a contact in Germany. Cars over there rust because of salt so he bought a bunch from me. Normally I got $1000 over my cost and he did the shipping. The best one was a 93 SL 500 AMG with an add on twin turbo kit. The alternator went out and the owner got tired of trying to change it outside in the rain. He gave up and put it on Craigslist 4 minutes before I saw it. Wife and I loaded up the trailer and headed there. He was asking 3300,!!! I eventually negotiated 2300. Loaded up and headed home, fixed the alternator in about half hour a went for a ride. All good. With that twin turbo Mercedes engine spooled up I was really surprised at how strong it pulled.Sold to my German buddy Rollin for20,500. He drove it for a couple days and sold it to a local guy for 25,000 USD. I pulled back from cars and am now concentrating on roughly pre 87 street bikes. Lot less buy in upfront but won?t make as much at the end. Motorcycles are cheap. Lots of fun though.

And,I?m still trying to get ahold of the guy with the 82 GS1100E on Seattle Craigslist, still no reply. Anyone know the seller or have a contact number?

Wow! That is a sizeable profit on the AMG!
I've lost money on every bike I ever sold except this last one, which was really nothing compared to hours spent fussing with it.
Most I ever spent on one was this April. $2500 track only.
