DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Its not that the 2mm is a big difference, but they won't slide onto your carbs properly and seat right. I'd look for 50mm. I have the Emgo's on my bike...actually 2 bikes and I like em. Go here http://www.crc2onlinecatalog.com/Index_Main_Frame.htm and look at all the sizes they have. Be sure you're measuring the right part of the runner too.

I measured the outside of the runner last time I ordered and they fit.

so it is confirmed, I'm an idiot, I had a sneaking suspicion, but now I'm sure:o I was looking at an angle since I have the carbs on the bike and was adding an extra 2mm:-k it is in fact 48mm.

Now I'm dealing with the internal threaded 13/16" petcock bung that is proving difficult to find

lol I gotta be honest man...I just measured and guessed at the closest size they had for sale. I think I measured on the centers of the rim where they mount the first time.

Cool, I did the same with my 450 :)

Mine might have been in somewhat better shape to start though. Paint and chrome was far worse though on mine. Mines all done now though :) Let me know how this comes out.

for today, I made a small 2" blind spot mirror and added a kickstand.

total cost for today was an hour and $2.99 for the mirrors;) still well under $1000.00.

I wanted to wait until it was almost done to do the kickstand so I would get the full amount of weight on the frame and I could see where it would balance best.

found some pics on my camera I never uploaded.

Is that a hardtail kit? Commercially available or something you put together yourself?

man, lookin' good! I just realized I might actually have some chain for you, did you ever find out what size you need? I have a few links of 530 chain, non o-ring.

if you find out you use a 530 I can dig it out and see how long it is for you?

also, I like the use of magnets, but one drawback to magnetizing your bits and pieces is then they pick up all the crap you've just filed off of them. :-k

but what better way to see how things fit without fighting clamps that don't fit right, etc. nice use of straps too.

:D

about the chain, I can use it, I'll pm you:D

I usually use the magnets for set-up and clamps for welding. I really hate how much metal dust they pick-up, one of my friends keeps them in ziplock bags until he uses them and then cleans them before putting them back, too much for me though.

I thought I posted it already, sorry. it is available for $100+$20 shipping, its universal so you need an extra 3-4' of dom for the backbone and some odds and ends.

here is the evilbay link to the store
it was cheaper when I bought it

Absolutely freaking LOVE this build you're doing!!!

thanks, I didn't really know how this board was going to be as far as purist hating me for cutting into a bike. got my gas cap in the mail today, $8 to my door and ordered some pod filters last night for $20, I was going to make some, but figured I would save the several hours of work.

at about $800 and I still have a whole second bike that only needs assembly and minor things to run, I want to end up with 2 bikes for under $2000. One for me to bounce around the city on my days off (this build) and one for my wife to learn on next summer.

will upload some pics from today in a little while.

anyone have any idea how much this bike should weight now? I can lift it from either end with no strain and I'm kind of curious how much it lost.

if anyone is looking for a cool gs project
\

as of today, I'm waiting for the pods, carb rebuild, chain, and tune up. hurt my back at work today while forcing a door, cut my hand, and I'm exhausted, but its pay day so its all good. I was going to start cleaning the grime off of the rims but my back hurts so thats out.

the question I have for today is ......... what tubes should I order? since these aren't holding much air.
