DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

good luck now that mine is blown apart for paint it seems like an even scarier project than from the start.

so for today, I started the bike using the old tank and it sounds good. I took out my orbital sander and did the tank the way I had planned. had this pic saved on my photobucket for some time, its on billy lane's panhead, this is his back fender

I was not going to do it the same color but it was already red and I only had green spray paint

swapped out the fork since it needs a rebuild and I won't have time, so the other one works well and will have to do for now.

made a light bracket to replace the old one. gotta dress it up a little, but you get the idea. I haven't decided on the size headlight I'm gonna run.

i am also doing a similar build well barely starting on it due to lack of time. i want to make it kick start and was wondering where i could find some good kits online. i luv the hand shifter though. i need to learn how to weld.

props to u bro. best build thread ever. now i have more motivation to build mine up more propper. i got a gs 500 gas tank and have an xr500 baja tail. i think i might part was with it and set it up more bobber than street tracker. u gave me great leads to more ideas and u have dope creativity. and thx for the bike porn.

hey man were did you get the front mount of the seat were you weld it to the frame

is it possible to take a 450 without a kicker and put a kicker on it? i hate only having electric start

I had the welder on the lowest setting and I was still burning holes here and there. I like it, sounds better than before too.

now you cant tell us it sounds good without a video clip of her running.

btw the best way i found to weld pipes is brazing with the oxy/acet torch. did a set on my quad with a cl360 motor in it like that and never had an issue.

i never cleaned it up and i used fence post (burning/welding galvinized is never a good idea, unless yer in a well ventalated area). but it isnt a show quad, just a buggy for rippin around on

I tig mine but i got to much money invested in tools and not enough in bikes:D

I agree about TIG for doing pipes but I've also done them with my MIG, just have to be carefull. Burning/welding galvanized pipe can be deadly, not just stinky. When that zinc burns off it's putting out fumes that will kill you if exposed too long, ventilation or not.
