If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Does anyone know where I can get these? I rebuilding stators and putting 16 gauge high-temp wire from the stator to the R/R. I have drilled/cut the holes in the rubber biscuit that seals the oil in the stator cover, but it is ugly and a PITA. Plus I have not been able to safely remove the biscuit from the old wiring harness. I know they are around because Rick's puts them on theirs.
What I would like is a factory source for this biscuit. Second choice would be a source for a sheet of rubber that I could cut myself. I found a 12x12x.250 for $100, but would prefer something a bit more reasonable.

Hi,

In the few years that I've been here I've never heard anyone mention a source for that rubber grommet. I had to reuse the original until I put a Rick's stator on my bike. I don't know where Rick's gets theirs. Maybe you can ask them? :)

Thank you for your indulgence,

BassCliff

You might have to cast your own out of suitably high-temp silicone.
Yeah, that was the $100 piece. Sigh.
I don't know how to ask Rick's without raising their ire.
Anyone else?

Why would it "raise their ire"? :-k

Simply ask them if the pieces are available and ask how much they are.

.

That's true. If I paid their retail price they should not have anything to complain about.:-k

Couple of ideas here George, I prefer # 2 for you but that's just me. :p :-\\\ ;)

Idea # 1 - Post in the parts wanted section for the used biscuits and stators, I would think there are a bunch of bad stators in most GSers parts collections. I know I have an old stator and biscuit that you are welcome to rebuild.

Idea # 2 - Buy a new stator, use the biscuit and throw the stator away.

Actually I have a couple of engines with holes in the stator covers.Could get one off and send it to you for shipping.

I appreciate all the responses, but I suspect I was not clear enough in my request/explanation.
First, I have rebuilt some stators.
Second, I despise the 18 gauge wire Suzuki chose in their ultimate cheapness.
Third, I want to use 16 gauge wire. Larger gauge, less loss, less heat, fewer failures (years of experience).
Fourth, I have tried reaming out the factory biscuits with disappointing results. They don't leak, but fitment is tricky, at best. If you ever looked at one, the path is not straight through from one side to the other. It angles, perhaps to minimize leaks?
Fifth, I would like to have some designed from the beginning to use 16 gauge wire.
