A Special Note about Email accounts!
DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

  • Returning Visitors

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

always look t the color of your plugs when any sort of missing occurs and it often can zero things down to one cylinder

Something fell off or got stuck.

Something fell off or got stuck.

Tear it down. You wont know what the heck is going on till you open it up and find the problem. I had a dirt bike that did the same thing after a half day of riding. I was having bad thoughts of enginge problems until I got it home and tore into it. The damn air filter got sucked in almost past the slide. It sounds like you have the bike in pretty good working order. I bet something came loose or got lodged in something. You just gotta find it. By the way. Never make your own air filter and rig it up..... Good luck. Chris.

Now you are scaring me with the never thing concerning air filters--Do you mean you actuall constructed an air filter or that you rigged up an air filter from some other piece of equipment and adapted it to your bike???

When we were kids, I remember friends of mine "creating" their own air filters out of a piece of cloth wired onto the carb mouth on their Briggs and Scrap Iron, or Tecumseh, or whatever powered mini-bikes and go-carts. Seemed to work on that application. Yes, I know, apples and oranges.... 8)

Re: spitting and spuddering won't start now

With it running, even if all four floats stuck, it would not make the engine die. 20 minutes running and once around the block would not be long enough to foul the plugs out even if the mixtures were very rich. Sounds to me like wiring with intermittant connections to start with causing the popping and back firing and then vibration after some running causing a total loss of electrical continuity in the ignition wiring. You say you "had it running". I assume then that you did do some work on it to get to that point. What work did you do?
