Hi everyone,
I own a 1980 gs 750 and I need to replace the output shaft. Why is a long story. Is been a great bike though. Put a little over 60k miles on it. I have all the new parts. But I cannot for the life of me figure out how to separate the two halves of the crank case. This is my first time getting this first into the engine this deep but I'm a quick study. I have a shop manual and have followed all the directions. Everything that the book says to remove is removed. And all the fasteners it says to remove are out. I can get a gap started all the way around the case except for the area where the sprocket is. I've been over it and over it and I see no more fasteners. I've probably spent ten hours trying to figure out how to do this last part. It's 60 degrees for the first time since fall and I don't have a bike. I've watched every video on the subject I could find and read every article. I'm completely stuck. Help would be greatly appreciated
