DO NOT SIGN UP USING hotmail, outlook, gmx, sbcglobal, att, bellsouth or email.com. They delete our forum signup emails.

A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

Thinking of buying a stage3 Dynojet kit for my Gs1085s ,now before I spend my hard earned cash are they worth the money.....
its has a V&H mega pipe comp baffle fitted ,oval K&Ns....

I would have to say yes and others here will probably say the same thing.

Thanks for replies guys....
Ok so are they easey to fit I ask?.....

Very easy. For vm its just swapping the new needles and screwing in the new main jet.

I have a stage 3 kit on my '81 1100E (CV carbs). Works great.

Easy to install: drill the slides, install new DJ needles, new air jets, new main jets...

The tricky part is getting the proper sized mains, & which notch on the needles to use sorted out. All dependent on your particular set-up (pipe, pods, cams, etc...).

You will have to check the plugs a few times to make sure your not running excessively rich or lean.

Also, lots of members here are running that kit as well, provide more info about your bike (year?) and set-up and someone will chime in with a needle position & mani recomendation.

will say it again, please keep the answers coming......
Also I see a drill in the kit what is that for?.....

depending on the kit. One is to remove the cap over the air mixture screw. The other is to drill the slide.

For the VM carb kit, there should be one bit, for removing the cap.

Kit may be for US based bikes. What kind of carbs does your bike have (type and size)?

Between the dynojet instructions and the carb rebuild tutorial on this site you shouldn't have a problem.

Steve, our bikes weren't set up as lean as the US models (no spirit of California here back in the '70s, even though Haynes chunters on about it). If you have lifted the needles a notch or 2 depending on plug colour and changed jets there is nothing to be gained by going big spendy on a Dyno jet kit.

I've set up loads of bikes from this era with pods and a pipe and never had to use a kit to get the thing to run spot on.
