A note to old forum members...
I receive numerous requests from people who can no longer log in because their accounts were deleted. As mentioned in the forum FAQ, user accounts are deleted if you haven't logged in for the past 6 months. If you can't log in, then create a new forum account. If you don't get an error message, then check your email account for an activation message. If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Hello all!

Have been lurking for awhile. I hope I have this question in the right area. Well I decided to get going on the replacement stator for my 1982 GS1100Gk. I pull the cover off and low and behold the starter gear idler shaft comes off with the cover, a moment later I hear a slight tink sound and I look down on my oil drain pan I see a thin washer, only one, so after trying to figure out where it goes I come to the conclusion that its a trust washer for the idler gear, no problem just have to figure out what side of the gear it goes on, try putting it on the inner part it slips and goes in between the starter clutch assembly, no problem I fish it out, so I decide and go on Bikebandits website to see the breakdown for the idler gear, low and behold I see that there should be two thrust washers one on each side of the gear I can't find the other washer anywear, are there two washers or is it a misprint on the schematic. I only heard one drop. I hope this doesn't turn into a nightmare Any ideas!

I answered my own question, found the other washer down in no no land. I'm gonna have to invest in a lift table to get bikes up to a good viewing level.. Me and low areas are just not getting along anymore. Any suggestions on a strong stable lift table? Something that somebody is already using in their shop.
