Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

Any email requests for "can't log in anymore" problems or "lost my password" problems will be deleted. Read the forum FAQ and follow the instructions there - that's what we have one for...

Stator, The GSR travelling mascot.

My thoughts would be. Send him to dpep in Florida this Spring(Don gets around to all the Rallies) Then pass him off to the PNW guys for the fall/winter (they ride all year) Stator could then make his way down the west coast and eventually to tkent. tkent could then take him to Europe... my $.02
If we got Stator down here this spring I would try to organize a ride in central Florida for him to meet up with the Sunshine State riders. We haven't had a Florida ride in several years. After that I could deliver him to someone at Brown County in June.

Or I could pick him up at Brown County in June and hand him off to someone at the West Virginia ride in July. Or......

My tentative itinerary for this season is to hit Brown County in June, WV in July, then stop off at the Sturgis, SD rally in August on my way up to Alaska from which I will return by way of the Cranbrook rally in September. There is a place on my bike for Stator for any of the legs of any of those trips. I may even be returning from Cranbrook via friends in Colorado, so I could drop him off at Tkent's if that were the way it worked out. Throw me and my routes into the mix as needed if needed.

Is there anyone from the East Coast/New England who will be making it to either Brown County or WV?

Bit embarrassing really , for us Aussies .
He had such a good , well documented time in NZ .

Bugger .

Cheers , Simon .

Stator is alive and well and arrived in Finley this morning.I've got a couple of rides planned for him in the next couple of weeks so stay calm and if you want to be his next chauffer put your name forward.

I vote for dpep. He has concrete plan that would see good initial coverage.

Any idea if Ozman is going likely to touch base and update the thread with a few photos?

Just a thought: If everyone can wait till end of May, when Simon is comming to the USA. Simon could bring Stator with him and hand him off in Ohio.

Or you could just stick Stator in a box and mail him.

And if Simon is game - he could document Stators trip and clearing customs (does he have a passport??).

Of course Simon would have to promise to not involve the "Mile High Club".
I think we can trust Simon - as long as Deb is with him we should be ok.

I think this is the way we should go. I thought the whole idea was for Stator to travel with GSR members and be passed from one to another for each next leg of his journey. Last I checked FedEx wasn't a member here or using GS's to make their deliveries.

Once Simon has him on the ground in Ohio in May we can start his North American swing. From Brown County in June I will be returning to Florida via DC/Richmond area if someone wanted to pick him up for an East Coast/New England swing. However it works out Cranbrook seems the logical place to pass him to the West Coast members.

I reckon there is enough to keep Stator busy in Auzzie until Simon leaves end of May, it gives two months, hell between Pete and Simon they could still give him a good time, I would suggest he moving on to Pete next then Simon, to be taken across the pond.
What say ye?

True enough, but without occasional assistance from members like tkent or Flyboy, he is going to have a bit of difficulty hopping from one continent to another. :-\\\

Then there is Simon. (And Deb. :D)
They do their own continent hopping every once in a while, so they can move him right along.
Any other members on that short list of continent hoppers? :-k

OK, it's not a GS, but FedEx does use bikes in some areas:

Hey , well done old mate .
We were getting a bit worried Stator was buried in a State forest somewhere .
I know about the work stuff .
I'm doing 12ies as well , with a 1 hour commute either side and only getting a day or two a month off . Glad to hear you're OK as well (we was getting a bit worried about Stator and about yourself).
I'm only to happy to accept Stator and bring him to the States in May , possibly after a trip to Brisbane with Pete and those Katmen (although they look like a pack of bear molesters) . Maybe Sharpy could be encouraged to give him a bit of a cuddle as well ?
Can't guarantee what condition he'll be in when I'm finished with him though .

Cheers , Simon .

WooHoo! Well done Ozman. Good to see the little fella hasn't been too neglected and still has his head (arms and legs) about him. :D

Good on ya Ozman, beautiful stable of skunks, damn, do you own all the skunks in Oz?
Nice travel log, thanks for that.

Great picture of the GS1000's all lined up. And thanks for posting the bear, good to see him up and around finally.

I wanna know how in the heck one of Chuck Hahn's bikes ended up down under!

What's the story on that little escapade?
