If you get a message stating that the email address is already in use, then your account still exists so follow the instructions in the forum FAQ for resetting your password.

Have you forgotten your password or have a new email address? Then read the forum FAQ for details on how to reset it.

  • This forum is for placing reviews for parts, accessories, gear and service as it relates to your GS motorcycle. The key here is "GS Related". There is a bit of latitude here but we don't want to see a review on Maytag washers just because that's what you use to clean your riding jacket in.

Keep your review as factual as possible and please refrain from personal attacks. Posted articles will be reviewed by the Editors and may be removed at their discretion.

So let's make this a useful addition to the forum! A special pat on the back goes to Hap Call for coming up with this great idea.

If you are a returning visitor who never received your confirmation email, then odds are your email provider is blockinig emails from our server. The only thing that can be done to get around this is you will have to try creating another forum account using an email address from another domain.

If you are a returning visitor to the forum and can't log in using your old forum name and password but used to be able to then chances are your account is deleted. Purges of the databases are done regularly. You will have to create a new forum account and you should be all set.

I ordered some parts for my bike including a couple of emblems from the gas tank. When i received them all the parts were just thrown in a usps flat rate box without a shred of packaging material what so ever. Well needless to say the emblems were totally scratched and dented and looked like crap. I have tried to contact them several times and get no response at all. I got burned for 30$ although not a lot of money it is money after all. Mark it up as a lesson learned and move on i guess. So if you are thinking of buying from them keep this in mind and find a reputable supplier.

Good to know thanks I've been on that site before ..never ended up buying anything from them.

Some of these large internet suppliers look so much more legitimate than they are.

There are some local favorites, but the one that most of us are using is Parts Outlaw.

They are the second-cheapest for most items, but the vendor with the cheapest rates has shafted more than just a few of us.

A couple of things to watch for on Parts Outlaw:
1. They have a minimum price. No, not a minimum total on the order, a minimum per piece price. If you order a washer that normally costs 87 cents, it will be $2.49. NOTHING is less than $2.49.
2. They have a flat-rate shipping charge of $9.99. While that is not all that bad, if you enter the word "BANG" in the promo field on the checkout page, you will get free shipping. :encouragement:

One other thing to keep in mind with virtually ALL of the online OEM vendors: expect your order to take about two weeks. The vendor has to place an order with Suzuki, who then sends the parts to the dealer, who then has to relay it to you. Yeah, about two weeks, total.

.

If you used a credit card to purchase the items contact the credit card company to see if you can get the charges reversed.

I know this is an older thread but want to respond. If you receive a package via USPS and it's at least a minimum service of Priority Mail (which in this case it is) there is insurance and all you need to do is file a claim. It would be nice if Partsfish would have just handled it but you don't need them.

Steve, thanks for the good info on Parts Outlaw. I plan on putting that shipping discount to work.

It`s the first time I hear about this site. Doesn`t seem that trustworthy at all ...

I have had a very different experience with PartsFish.com. I've ordered from them a few times and have been happy with my orders. One of my orders was over $300 in small parts & hardware. They have also helped me via their live chat feature on their website. Nobody will ever compare to Z1 as far as customer service and packaging goes. They do it right(PLENTY of packing peanuts). The prices at Z1 however... But Still, Gotta love those guys at Z1.

Insurance would only be valid IF the items were adequately protected with packaging. I can't speak for the USPS insurance process as we have near zero insurance claims with them, but UPS WILL reject insurance claims where the box wasn't beat up and contents were damaged through improper packing. We've seen this multiple times where suppliers ship to us and things come in broken.

Actually things have changed some Jeff. In the old days the package would have to be taken to the Post Office for the claim but now they won't even due a claim in person, it is all handled online. USPS never sees the box, never sees the packing (or lack thereof). USPS however does NOT pay the original shipping cost back where UPS and Fed Ex do pay back the shipping expense. If a claim had been filed with USPS it very likely would have been paid.

In this situation the issue is squarely on the shipper (Partsfish) as their poor packaging caused this damage and not on USPS

Almost just now ordered from Partsfish... saw this post when I was looking for a coupon code. Ordered from Parts outlaw instead and saved about $10 with that "BANG" code... Thanks jbthomp, and thanks again Steve.

Never had a problem with them, always good service. Been ordering from them for years now and still plan to.

Whenever I purchase parts for either of my 2 bikes, I go to the dealership's site and then partsfish.com is the supplier (I guess), but I have never had an issue with their service. Usually as low priced as partsoutlaw and with the choice to pick up the parts in store, there is no shipping charges, just the regular sales tax which I guess can offset the shipping w/o sales tax added by other vendors. Also, they are just across town from me, about 20 minutes so no big deal in my opinion. I also seem to get the ordered parts within 5 business days.

I have used G&S Suzuki with good results other than it usually takes 2 weeks, also no problems with Partzilla. I prefer to use G&S to support their brick and mortar store. I would use my local dealer if they sold parts anywhere near Suzuki list, but they make up their own prices. Good tip about the $2.49 minimum, most of what I order is well below that, screws, bolts, washers, etc..

Bob, just to let you know, G&S is the one that has screwed a few of us in the past. (See post #4.)

My previous post in this thread was just about three years ago, a few things have changed. Parts Outlaw is still my go-to place. You say you like G&S because of their brick and mortar store? Parts Outlaw is the online part of Deland Motorsports in Deland, Flori-duh. Yep, a "brick and mortar" store. They have removed the $2.49 minimum price per piece, they now charge whatever the price really is. The sad part is that they are no longer doing any discounts on their shipping, it's all flat-rate at $9.99.

Back in the days when I was using G&S, I had asked them about that two-week wait. They said that, as a dealer, they had to have a minimum order before they could call the Suzuki warehouse. I think he said it was something like $500. If they had just placed an order in the morning and got your order in the afternoon, they would have to wait until other online orders came in and/or their mechanics needed to order some parts to get that minimum amount. It might take a few days. When they placed the order with the warehouse, it would get filled, then shipped to G&S. Once they get it, they have to sort out all of the orders, then re-package your stuff and ship it to you. Overall, knowing what all goes on, it's not all that bad. On the other hand, if your order is the one that kicks them over their minimum amount, it might happen a couple of days quicker.

I have no reason to doubt that this process holds true for just about any Suzuki dealer with an online presence. Somehow, Bike Bandit seems to be quicker than most, but they are also the second most-expensive of the bunch. Yeah, they show a decent discount from "retail price", but their version of "retail price" seems to be quite a bit more any anybody else's. :-k

Z1 still remains at the top of the heap for customer service. Unfortunately, they can't offer quite the discount some of the larger-volume stores can, and if they have to order something special, it still takes the same two weeks as anyone else, but generally, if it's on their website, it's in stock, and you will have it in just a couple of days. :encouragement:

.

see post #16 above. Never have I had a two week wait for parts ordered from their on line fiche. It's always the standard line that I will get my parts within 5 business days.

Merry Christmas everyone.

I use partsfish to look up parts and see fiches for some Yamahas and then copy and paste part numbers for Ebay searches. I have onky ordered a handfull of stuff from them and didnt note they were faster OR slower than anyone else seems to be.
